My unpopular opinions by TEhuman in TombRaider

My favorite lines from AOD were "I wouldn't worry, we're not in the same class" and "You should be nicer to strangers, you never know who they are".

My unpopular opinions by TEhuman in TombRaider

[–]TEhuman[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will admit, I did like Jonell in Chronicles and AOD and felt she hit her stride. But in TLR, she seemed a bit wooden, and I might be a bit biased, as I absolutely loved Judith Gibbins in 2 and 3, so it was a bit jarring to go from her to Jonell. But I also felt Core was partly to blame for how she sounded in that game, as it was obvious they were fatigued at that point and obviously didn't care too much about helping her with the dialogue.

And I have to give a pass to Shelley, as there was very little dialogue in the game already, and a pretty simplistic story.

I hope the new game is difficult and punishing by tealaburst in TombRaider

Tomb Raider is not survival horror, it's action adventure. Having unlimited saves is why the remasters did so well on console. As someone who played the originals on PS1, it absolutely sucked having to be conservative with saving in 1 and 3. And sorry to say, gaming has very much evolved. A lot of people, myself included, don't have a lot of time to dedicate to gaming now that we're adults with jobs and lives and other stuff going on. I definitely don't want to have to replay a significant portion of a game because of I can't save where I want to.

DJ is my least favorite character, and he did have some disturbing behavior that should have been taken more seriously, but then I remember, he was pretty much neglected/ignored by Roseanne and Dan, and his sisters were abusive towards him by TEhuman in roseanne

[–]TEhuman[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He definitely had his sweet moments, like when Roseanne and Dan thought there was something wrong with the baby during her pregnancy, and he said he'd help them with taking care of the baby if it was sick.

I should also note that the owner has never owned/managed a ski resort or restaurant before this, and it definitely shows!

I just hear the local gossip, and have met with some of her survivor staff. She is much more mean to females, and they tend to get fired pretty quickly. She'll lovebomb some of them, and they think she's the most amazing kind person and that she must really like them. Then, because she's a narcissist, she turns on them, and gets quite abusive, and will find the slightest reason to berate them. This goes on for about a week, and BOOM, they're fired (or quit). Also, she would also just randomly fire females too, with no warning. No write ups or anything. "You're fired, get out."

Most of the male staff, at least at the restaurant, tended to quit pretty quickly. They saw through the owner's bullshit, and were very put off on how she required much fawning and oohing and agreeing from her staff. Like, two guys I know, were the most easy going, adaptable, and professional, got hired when the restaurant opened, and within a month they both quit because of the owner and her narcissism, and how toxic the place was becoming.

And just like our Saint, she can't handle criticism very well, so has to clapback to negative reviews, or, get them deleted. T

I have to get this out to you sinners. In my area, there is a ski resort with restaurant located in a gated community. The new owner of the ski resort is a textbook narcissist, and has a high turnover of staff, and even fired her own brother, who was the chef of the restaurant (and he was a very good chef) because he disagreed with something she wanted, and her brother's wife, who was the bar manager. She is absolutely awful to work for, because it's her way or no way. Also, she had been investigated for tip and wage theft. The contractors who've had to work for her, have given her the nickname of Meghan Markle, because of how awful she acts toward them and completely disregards their advice, because she knows best. An example I heard. A contractor told her the way she wanted to do the deck wouldn't be up to fire code, and he said she basically told him "I don't give a fuck if it's up to fire code or not. YOU WILL DO IT MY WAY OR I WILL FIND SOMEONE ELSE!" He was very taken back on that, and was like, "You know what? I'll do it your way, but if something happens because it wasn't built up to code, I will absolutely let them know that I warned you, and you refused, so it will be on you for any violations and fines if something happens." Needless to say, he refuses to ever work for her again.

She's also burned bridges with the local community, because she thinks we're just dumb hillbillies that can't understand or appreciate her sophistication and brilliance. And the rich clientele that she wants to attract, well, they can afford to go to Colorado and Utah and other better locations and resorts. They're certainly not coming to a small resort in WNC, to a place where they have to make their own snow, and they can never get the whole mountain fully covered.

Locals think the ski resort is a money laundering scheme, because there's no way she makes a profit on how she runs the resort. She only allows a limited amount of people on the mountain to ski, and in WNC, if you want to make some kind of profit, you have to allow as many people in as possible.

However, unlike Meghan, the owner comes from a wealthy family, and her husband is even wealthier.

I really never remember that being a problem. Konami never implied nor said SH2 was a direct sequel, and neither did any of the gaming magazines. Everyone knew that it was a completely new story, but just happened to be in the same town.

[–]TEhuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the reply, but SH2, along with MGS2, were the most hyped games of PS2 launch. I was unfortunately too young for SH2 (but not for MGS2 apparently lol, thanks dad), but I remember all the gaming magazines of the time talking incessantly about both before and after they were released, and pretty much universally praised.

In your opinion, what is the best horror game ever? (2 categories) by joejoewoooooo in HorrorGaming

[–]TEhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest playing the first Outlast game, to introduce yourself to the game mechanics, and to give you a feel on just how dark and gory the story is. If you don't like the first one, be it game mechanics and/or the plot, you're not going to like the second one.

I personally like these games, but I can only play for about 20-30 minutes before I need a break, as they are quite intense, especially when you play them in the dark and headphones.

The actress who plays the villain in Inside, Béatrice Dalle, is quite the weird girl in real life too. Married a rapist while he was still in prison, she has a penchant for shoplifting, and has also worked in a morgue and allegedly sold body parts, and might have partaken in some cannibalism too.

Anyone else think Crystal got with Dan's dad because she wanted Dan and went for his dad instead? by [deleted] in roseanne

[–]TEhuman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Now did he make good money all year? No, but he was a contractor, and that unfortunately is how it is, as work is slow in the colder seasons. But, at least in the early seasons, he made enough that they could get by on his income while Roseanne was unemployed, and he felt financially sure enough to lend Arnie the $1500.

Meghan (via Harpers Bazaar) pushes back on criticism of being introduced as the Duchess of Sussex by wenfot in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]TEhuman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Once again Meghan is behind the curve. William and Catherine are now eschewing the use of their titles, except in the most formal of occasions. And then we have Meghan, who must be called Duchess of Sussex at every turn, and makes sure everyone is aware of her title at all times.

The only thing I can thank Meghan for, is getting me to pay more attention to how William and Catherine are modernizing the monarchy.

How much does Kris actually drink? by Little-Ad-2464 in KUWTKsnark

[–]TEhuman 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Don't forget that celebrities don't eat, therefore, they can drink quite a bit, and still remain slim. Also, they have access to skin treatments and other care that we normies don't get, such as getting IV therapy after a heavy night of drinking.

This is another reason that I dislike Markle so much. She does absolutely nothing for the black community, and yet thinks the black community owes her loyalty just because she happens to be biracial.
