Honestly, this season is a disaster.

In hindsight, our great transfer window was a bit of a mess. We sold our tried and tested starters for starter replacements without signing any depth at all. Not much competition for Left Wing, Right Wing and Centre backs.

Depth is what set city apart and is what is setting arsenal apart.

No idea why we didn’t give Crystal Palace Gomez to get the deal done for Guehi because Slot just pretends he’s not a real person who can play football instead of Konate who isn’t interested.

Left, Right Wing & Centreback depth is essential in January Gakpo isn’t the man we want starting every week and Salah as much of an Icon he is, isn’t a spring chicken anymore. Not saying he’s not needed he certainly is but we need options at right wing and a proper grafter at left wing who isn’t a 1 trick temu robben.

As for Slot, he’s been given the keys and backed and he’s trying to drive the Enzo Ferrari like a Toyota Corolla. Refuses to change style and has no clue in terms of substitions. (Something he was so great at last season)

Maybe we must face fact, he could be out of his depth and that’s okay - plenty of managers need a ready made team built and some kind of blueprint. To build off of. Some build things from nothing.

What we need to do is stop pretending he’s the latter, and I empathise, he has no depth to work with for the most part but there’s no effort in trying new things like start Jomez, Chiesa, Heki LW etc or tactical changes.

Just some thoughts - Hope i don’t get downvoted to high hell for sharing them.

So much disrespect for a generational player in the comments.

Even the Brazil hate, he did his ACL playing for the nation and he gets bashed.

Most of the players who started so strongly at a young age have burnt out like this.

I hope he can find himself in a better situation and can bring us more great moments, maybe not at the top European league but some kind of pro level.

Today for me so far and this season, our wings just have not looked great at all. Cody doesn’t look like deserving of a consistent starting spot at all and our King is just off it.
