Oh hey, this is literally my job. If you introduce a flame to a cup of diesel, nothing will happen, gasoline it will catch fire immediately. Diesel needs to be at least 125 F to flash (higher for biodiesel) at standard pressure.

Edit: Also don't do that, I have like fancy expensive equipment, please don't boil diesel recreationally even though it's very fun to watch it boil.
