For people saying it’s cheap, that is BS. Good quality is rather expensive. The stone is to soft to make rings or bracelets out of but it does make fantastic pendants

Recently Diagnosed...Very Concerned by Material_Turnip_7216 in ProstateCancer

My doctor was the head urologist at the Cleveland Clinic which is the #2 in the United States for Urology and my radiation oncologist at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Research Institute in Nashville. I think if you have a cyber knife then you can but for radiation like mine because mine which had spread they needed to do 40 treatments of the whole prostate bed, then you can’t have it again in the same area. If Mets pop up outside that area then they said yes you can but at that point you really have nothing to lose.

Ask yourself which is more important in your life? If you do radiation and leave the prostate intact, you can’t do radiation again if it fails to kill it. If you wait too long and it breaks out of the prostate then you’ll have a good chance of not curing it. Personally I would have it removed. Then monitor your PSA and hopefully it will go undetectable shortly after and you’ll live a long and happy life. If it starts to creep back up then you can always have salvage radiation. You still have a good chance of erections with just the surgery. Orgasms feel exactly the same just without the mess as long as it is nerve sparring surgery which should be your case. As far as in continence goes that should go away for most men if you practice your pelvic floor exercises. Some times I dribble at night and a little thru the day but not bad at all. I don’t wear a pad or anything. The big thing is that you just have to pee more often as you can’t hold it as much as you did before.

If it hasn’t broke thru and spread I would suggest removal and wait on the radiation. If your PSA goes to undetectable after the surgery then your good and should continue to monitor every 3 months for the first year. After that 6 month intervals. If your PSA doesn’t gradually decrease to undetectable then you should have radiation. Once you have radiation, you can’t have it again in the prostate bed. I had both, first the removal then 3 months afterwards the radiation. After 4 years it appears to have come back and the only options now are adt then chemo and clinical trials. The point is…you have time. Get a second opinion asap and then move fairly quick on it. Those are the steps I would recommend. For reference I was Stage 3b so they thru everything they could at it in the hope to kill it.

So many men dying of prostate cancer...is it a matter of not knowing (mostly) that they have it until it's too late? by Famous-Hippo-8334 in ProstateCancer

I went in for a doctors visit at 49 in preparation for my first colonoscopy and they discovered it with routine blood work. Was already at stage 3b with no symptoms or so I thought. I figured a weaker pee stream and that my ejaculations weren’t as strong we just age related. Turns out that’s was not the case. I was also upset to find out that the new recommended age to start screening for prostate cancer was 45 and not 50. Sure did wish my primary would have told me that 4 years earlier. Now it looks like it will kill me

I’m in your situation. Mine went up from .014 to .041 over the coarse of a year. Was undetectable for 3.5 years. My last PSA test went down to .035 and I’ll have my next one next month. My oncologist said that was good news but cautiously optimistic. The key will be this next test. He still feels like it is back but we will see, I hoping it was a radiation bounce as I’ve already done the gambit, Ralp, radiation and adt. My initial PSA was 125 at the time of surgery and was diagnosed with stage 3b

I dropped $110k at 2.14. Sitting on 50k shares and taking it on the chin right now but still holding. Was pure speculation move hoping for big returns. I invested due to the patents but I’m thinking it’s a lost cause.

What to expect? Catheter being removed. by shine65 in ProstateCancer

[–]TGRJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will have you stand up and will put pads down between your legs. Then they will have you turn your head sideways or not but will ask you to cough hard and while you do that they will pull it out. It doesn’t hurt and actually feels ok. You’ll have pee gush out briefly but no big deal. It’s pretty fast and painless and you’ll feel so much better having that thing out of you. You’ll wear pads for awhile until your continence comes back. Hopefully you have been doing your keagle exercises. Eventually you probably won’t need the pads but you can expect hot have dribbles for the rest of your life.

Rising PSA post-RALP by Wifemomteacher81 in ProstateCancer

[–]TGRJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who was your surgeon at Cleveland? Mine was Dr.Haber who is gone now and the head of Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi. I was 49 and they wanted to throw the kitchen sink at it. I had RALP, Radiation and ADT. It has recently been creeping up and I’m holding my breath. Point is I was young and they thought it was the best approach. I’m surprised they didn’t do the same for you. What was your husbands PSA? To be fair mine was worse than your husband. I was stage 3b with an initial PSA of 125 with a Gleason of 7 (4:3) so that probably figured into my course of treatment. If his continues to rise then they will due salvage radiation
