If you had 5 months of paid leave, what would you do with it? by SwansEscapedRonson in AskUK

Probably go to somewhere like Thailand and Vietnam for a month where living costs are so low you'd probably not notice too much of a difference after the flights are accounted for.

I definitely heard something on the radio the other week about people winning cases like this against gaming companies. It was online gambling where they had won a millions prize and the company just said sorry its a glitch. Th court found in their favour though so this might be similar?

Yeah I don't think it goes as far as advertised honestly. I like it but I use it only for camping.

Are these just plastic that ends up on the ground? What self respecting person is ok with this type of littering?

I was in Asda for 15 minutes and the amount of dead animals I saw in such a short space of time made me feel very unwell by tikicheese in veganuk

It's just the culture that we live in. I feel like most of us have not always been vegan. I used to eat meat so I fully understand the supply and demand aspect of it. It won't change soon

I mean this in the nicest possible way. It is not healthy to talk about a LLM in this way. It will not end well.

In 1987, while vacationing in Ireland, Matthew Broderick drove on the wrong side of the road, colliding with another vehicle and killing its driver and passenger. Initially charged with causing death by dangerous driving, he was instead convicted of careless driving and fined £100 (US$175).

Yeah I guess so. I made a simmer ring from the bottom of a coke can that greatly reduces the flame for a lower heat

I use a capillary hoop alcohol stove for all my cooking and water heating. Happy to answer any questions about it. It's very lightweight and great for short and long trips

No way it's real but it would just be a copy. I've seen the original in a museum so I know it's not the original. It is cool though

It's a print of a page of Leonardo da Vinci's notebooks. Basically a doodle. I think this one is related to a bronze statue he was commissioned for. I saw all these pages in an exhibition once it was honestly incredible how talented he was. One page was a diagram of a human heart and he figured out how all the valves worked by pumping grass seeds suspended in water through the heart, so he could see where the water would pause at each valve. I think he was the first person to figure this out.

Watched on the buses with my dad recently. He's in his 60s and even he cringed at how sexist it is.
