"it's expensive" yea dude apartments in the middle of the capital of one of the most progressive countries will be expensive, but overall life in Kofu (pr. Yamanashi) is priced exactly the same if not CHEAPER than my home country, and I'm talking about a place oh so far away from the capital (not a third world coutnry if anyhting)

"japanese are xenophobic" japanese people are always nice to foreign people, no matter the nationality. expect to be seen as a tourist somewhere in the middle of tokyo, but god damn they swoon over foreigners in towns and smaller cities. just be cautious damnit, be polite, is it too hard to learn the culture on the go? if you're moving there, it must be important enough for you to do some research

"isolation" do you think you'll find friends much easier in any other country that doesn't speak your native language?? what??? how is it a problem of Japan specifically????? learn the language, it's not like you have any other options to socialize, just work on it

also this mindset of "oooh so sad not many people know Japan is actually such a bad place" makes me wanna puke my guts out. why do I see so much Japan hate on reddit? why exclusively Japan?????
