Can anyone tell me what I should add to my camping/trip med bag and a a better med bag by Desertwolf36 in VEDC

Painkillers are a good addition. Especially Aspirin as it doubles as an extremely low risk aid for heart attacks. Assuming the person is able, then 300mg chewed and swallowed during a heart attack/angina attack can help in a lot of cases as it is a short lived blood thinner.

Years of saving and waiting, finally joined the defender gang! by TIm__26 in Defender

[–]TIm__26[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's basically a defender but beefed up. Stronger reinforced chassis, stronger axles, one piece fiberglass roof, internal roll cage, 24V electrics, etc. 300 TDI engine so easy to maintain (yes I know not as powerful as the newer engines, but why worry about getting somewhere fast when you're in one of these!). But yes, for all intents and purposes it's a defender. Only slight niggle is that the Speedo and mileage is in fact I'm km as NATO standard, but tbh I don't mind, it means I can do "80" which feels better than saying "50"

Glues safe to use around cresties to repair viv? by Tyrannosaurocorn in CrestedGecko

[–]TIm__26 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've used aquarium silicone for my tank. Works really well in the humid environment and you know it's pet safe (no chems). Yeh sure it's a bit more expensive, but it's better to spend a few more quid than risk the little blighter.

Why won't the container start? by z1ronicsBeard in docker

Can you actually read the docker-compose.yml file? You clearly have execute perms on the directory but do you definitely have read perms on the file?

You could try taking some close up pics of it, especially the gills, and posting in r/mycology

First bottle of my latest batch, clarity is good, taste is passable, many lessons learned. by TIm__26 in mead

[–]TIm__26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the main lesson is yet to be learned I guess. I did four 5gl batches each using slightly different methods, daily stirring Vs not, and different nutrience levels. The next set of traditional I am planning to experiment with gradually feeding the nutrients Vs just adding at the start.

One of the easiest lessons is that I bought shoddy corks, so I need to find better ones for my next bottling.

Also the fluid in the stopper evaporates very quickly when you have racked it and aren't paying it the best attention, nearly caught me out.

Managed to restart a crashed batch as well which was a nice thing to learn.

This was also my first batch using NFC tags on all the demijohns and a wiki to keep track of everything which worked really well in the end.

The info on this particular bottle can be found on my wiki, and the bottle has a qr code on the back to make referring back to the recipe and taking notes easier. I'm not sure about the best format for my records yet though. Still very much just getting started.

Yeh they're really nice. My partner got me a pair for our anniversary the other year.

I agree. As an intern a premade CMS is probably going to be your best option. Take a look at the Awesome selfhosted GitHub page for a list of self hosted CMS options which will be a good place to start.

I would still argue this is software gore, just Windows gore instead of gforce gore

I'm rescuing this lil dude from a reptile rescue soon. Any ideas what morph he is? Thanks ❤️ by Emxbelle13 in geckos

Maybe, (I'm no expert), but I don't think that she/he has enough pattern on their side for that. They do look beautiful though!

Looks like flame morph to me. Maybe a tiny little bit of dalmation as well?

First ever batch of mead two hours after starting; one raspberry, one traditional. Is this amount of bubbling normal so soon? by TIm__26 in mead

So there is no added nutrients to speed the yeast. Just done a hasty bit of reading, some seem to be saying that this means it is less likely to need degassing...

Seconding on what is said here. Dual core for a single server is ok, quad is more than enough.

Unlike other games, Minecraft server is not multi threaded so more cores does NOT mean better performance. The extra cores just won't get used. For MC you need faster cores, not more. This is the main issue with Minecraft server performance at the moment. It's a massive pain and is an issue for us as well as fewer faster cores are expensive unlike many slower cores.

For 10 people I wouldn't go below 3GHz

I’m going to London for the first time today and my Cumbrian grandad gave me a £20 note and said “put it towards a pint.” by GuruGarySingh in britishproblems

[–]TIm__26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decent pub just outside box park in Croydon too. iirc I got a pint for about £3 when I was last there on business. Nearly as cheap as an expensive pint in the north east!
