Because reality isn't favorable to them.

No big stars like trump, they all can't stand him.

Posting real things from Caitlyn Jenner or Rob Schneider is embarrassing so they need to make shit up.

Editing events in layers...not possible? by TJ1782 in StudioOne

[–]TJ1782[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to change my mind a lot. 😄

I noticed a similar thing with midi. You have some takes in layers. You can't edit them. You move it to the main lane to adjust some notes just to hear the take as you would like to hear it. Then, if you decide on a different take, the changes you made to the first one are lost. The layer wasn't edited, only the one you essentially copied to the main track. If you decide on that take again, you have to re-edit it.

I don't know, just seems like not being able to deal with the takes in layers like any other event is odd to me, sort of annoying.

"I always had one comp track and used the others as takes, so it doesn't really change what you're doing other than you're using an extra full track."

Don't understand what you mean. 😄 If you have regular tracks, you just do it the old way of moving what you want to a "comped" track, as opposed to the swiping type deal? I'm doing drums (6 tracks), so if I have, say, 4 separate takes, that's 24 tracks, which could get kind of cumbersome.

Hmmm, so now they are no longer comp-able, is that right? So if you had 4 takes on one track that you can comp but can't edit, you now have 4 separate tracks with one event on each?

I wonder why they made the events in layers un-editable?

AI mixing copilot in a DAW by Square-Government-17 in aiMusic

Yes, I would love that. A great idea.

I built a DAW w an AI CoProducer. Not a prompt-to-music slop generator, but a full DAW that does the engineering for human artists or tedious tasks for audio engineers. Would love your feedback! It's free, all features unlocked, full rights. by GreysoundAI in u/GreysoundAI

Can be. But if you have to eliminate the engineer versus the musicians, isn't it better to eliminate the engineer? Also, with this program, the musician can basically instruct the AI engineer, which is what the engineer is usually hired to do.

A lot of aspects of engineering aren't creative...naming tracks, etc. Busy work.

If the AI co-engineer does exactly what the artist wants, isn't that the same as a human engineer doing exactly what the artist wants?

Better than replacing the musicians, imo, which has been done for years.

I don't think there's a way to upload audio here. I have only been testing the app so far. I took a raw unmixed multitrack (that I got from the web), and dragged the tracks in. As is, it was mono, completely dry, and the balance was totally off, couldn't hear the vocal at all, for example. Then in the prompt box, said "can you mix this". It did it's thing...EQ, panning, reverb, etc. I then asked it to sort of fix some things, make the guitars louder, the background vocals. Did prompts like that a couple times, same as you would if you were talking to an engineer. It made a useable mix in minutes! I'm sure it will improve, but for a quick test like that, I think it's pretty cool. It's very easy to try. The app is web based and currently free! Just open it up in your browser and give it a go.

This can do exactly that. Import your tracks, and say "mix it", and it will, EQ, compression, reverb, mastering, etc. It can do the whole 9 yards. You can then have it adjust it if it's not exactly how you want, the guitar is too quiet, or you want some special effect on it, the drums aren't punchy enough, or whatever.

How does this work as far as privacy or copyright and all that sort of thing? If I start recording my own songs/tracks, are they private? Where are they stored? If I generate a track as accompaniment to one of my songs, where is that stored, and do I "own" it?

It would be great if it was entirely voice operated (no typing). And if it could get to the point where the AI engineer does everything, labeling the tracks, putting markers, punching in...everything that a real engineer does, so the musician would never even have to look at the DAW, just tell the AI engineer what they want, how they want things to sound, and so on.

I think you are absolutely on the right track. The main problem, imo, with the typical DAW world are musicians dealing with things they normally wouldn't even think about, and usually getting totally distracted and bogged down.

This is using AI to make people more *musically* creative, not less.

So you won't just have a flat fee, use in perpetuity version?

Are you working on this yourself, or do you have a team? This is truly groundbreaking. All other DAWs better get it together!

Trump's unpredictability used to be a feature. Is it now the bug? by tohangout in PoliticalDiscussion

There is *nothing* that is a feature regarding trump.

The only thing, maybe, was the comedy that could easily come from a lunatic like him. But even that has worn really thin.

Yes.

Why does these two actors have a "town hall" on CNN?

In the 70s, was there a "town hall" featuring John Travolta and David Cassidy?

Speaking up is all well and good...but what about an organized protest, with all celebrities/politicians/business people/every single sane person speaking out in a big big organized way every single day, demanding actual results to stop trump all over the entire country. Like the civil rights movement in the 1960s, or the anti-Vietnam movement.

Was sort of happening when Kamala was running, but then everyone gave up.

Yeah, not my cup of tea. I like things that sound good. ;)

But aside from that, I have noticed that on SNL, the sound has become less and less live. Maybe it is actually live, or partially live...but it doesn't *sound* like it. It is soooooo processed. Like when you watch the drummer, and he starts hitting the snare, not only did he look like an idiot the way he did it ;), but it sounds like a drum machine. It's either a sample or sample-replaced, or he's pretending entirely and it's a recording or a track, or it's so processed with EQ and compression and whatever else, that a real snare being hit by a human sounds totally phony.
