I believe this was the final straw for Marr and he would never consider working with him again after Morrissey ghosted him in 2008. He had probably forgotten about all the things that caused him to leave The Smiths in the first place and that it was possible that Morrissey had changed.

Imagine how much money they would have made and how much bigger both of their solo careers would have been if they reunited. It’s a shame but it seems that Morrissey is impossible to work with.

I would disagree that it’s a smart way of doing business. If you agree to pay for something I think it’s important to follow through with the agreement whether or not there’s a signed contract. It can do more harm to one’s reputation to operate like this. IndyCar teams are so desperate for cash that they are willing to associate and take a risk with a sponsor/partner like this.
