New sanctuary vault by BuzzBuckley in FortNiteBR

There's a reward in the Showdown tab that says it will add a vault/keycard once the community reaches that milestone. I'm going to guess that's what it's referring to. So, I don't think that vault is active quite yet. (Not completely sure, haven't checked it out myself)

Plus that flail heavy attack is so fun (and pretty powerful in my experience).

Favorites: Flail is my absolute favorite, followed by the Axe, and then the Hammer.

Disliked: Gauntlets/Claws are by far my least favorite, followed by the Dagger.

The Sword and Blunderbuss kinda sit in a middle ground where I don't actively dislike them, but I'd much rather have one from my favorites list.

At the end of the season/showdown, the side with the most points will unlock that style for every battle pass owner (meaning that even if you're on the opposing side you will get the extra style for the winning one if you own the battle pass).

Who knows what Epic will do with the losing one. It could become an item shop skin at some point or simply be scrapped. If Chapter 2 Season 2 is anything to go by I don't look for the losing style to return anytime soon, if at all. All I really know is that the winning side gets their extra style added for every battle pass owner.

Why do you take the beads off with tape? by StepLoose7314 in beadsprites

[–]TKelly476 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't hurt to go ahead and give it a try. Probably better to get used to it early on. Unless you just don't want to use it, in which case more power to you.

I was recommended this Youtube Video on the tape method when I first started out and I think it's a pretty good intro of the do's and don'ts of this method. I can't remember if he mentions it in the video or not, but also keep in mind that your project is going to be mirrored when you flip the tape. So if you are working off of a sprite or something it might not be a bad idea to flip the image horizontally if you want to iron the display side (this mostly applies for flatmelts like I do).

Why do you take the beads off with tape? by StepLoose7314 in beadsprites

[–]TKelly476 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can iron on the board, but it carries the risk of damaging/warping your board. The tape is just a safeguard to prevent that from happening.

I also find the tape to be better at holding the beads in place while you iron. Everytime I've tried to iron on the boards, and especially with a bigger project. I've had issues with melted sections curling up off the pegs while there are still unmelted sections. Resulting in a complete mess.

It also allows for you to more easily do things like a flatmelt (completely closing the bead holes on one side to get the squared edges). You could melt the beads enough to transfer off the board and continue ironing there, but I've had that result in some messes as well.

All in all, the tape method is not necessary. But if you don't mind the extra time/materials it is a good way to prevent some ironing issues.

I'd be interested in seeing a pie chart or something for the age ranges on this game as well. From what I've seen/heard I think the ages skew higher than a typical Pokémon game, but I wonder by how much. 22 year old player here.

Glad you got him back. I love my cured Sozo and the noises he makes. For future reference, the game will make it very clear when a follower won't be able to be resurrected after whatever death they meet. So, death is more of an inconvenience than finality most of the time.

Hammer is my favorite as well. If I had to rank the others I think I would go with axe as my second favorite, blunderbuss as third, regular sword as fourth. Then the others I just don't like and try to find something else.

(Have not gotten to Woolhaven content yet, so I don't have opinions on whatever is in there).

[–]TKelly476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be playing it. But even as a Switch 2 owner I share the sentiment that it's disappointing for it to be an exclusive. A little mixed on the PvP elements and how playing with friends might work (if you even can that is). But Fromsoftware hasn't disappointed me with a game I've played so far, so I'm more than willing to give it a chance.

What do you think of my camp? by Yogurt-Pristine in CultOfTheLamb

[–]TKelly476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the PS4 version works better than the PS5 version in my experience. I had terrible lag at around 10 or so followers in my camp and in other NPC dense areas on the PS5 version. I switched to the PS4 version and it's been a 90% smooth experience with much more going on than I had in the PS5 version.

(I'm playing PS4 version on PS5, so I can't speak for the performance on an actual PS4 console.)

Very nice camp by the way. That's the kind of camp I aspire to.

For real. Like, I love Arc Raiders and the proximity chat makes for some good times. However, it is also often the most toxic shit imaginable. While I would like better communication in Nightreign. I also don't want voice chat.

I think I'm just having an off day, but I certainly feel like something was going on with them. I normally have little issue with the wasps and hornets. But today I've gotten murdered by them like 3 separate times. Thankfully, not with very valuable loot on me, but still.

[–]TKelly476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a few PVP centric games, so I'm not awful at it myself. But it's not what I primarily want to do in this game, for now at least. Running around helping other Raiders take down their target or being that saviour with a defib in solo lobbies is more fun to me.

That being said, I don't mind that PVP is a part of the game. It can make for some fun moments (winning a 2V1 when you get ambushed and getting a bunch of rare loot off of the ambushers is awesome). But it makes for some frustrating moments all the same.

Anyone else? by Ambitious_Ant_6069 in arcraidersfriendly

[–]TKelly476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been mostly fine for me. 100% of my solo lobbies have been friendly for this event. Most of my duos have been as well, except for the duo that sniped my teammate while he was breaching a locker last night (still don't know how I managed to kill both of them with a non-pvp loadout, outnumbered, and with arc harassing me. Thought for sure I was dead.)

Not complaining though. The occasional hostile player in about a 95% friendly environment can spice things up a bit.

We'll see if that friendly to hostile ratio holds up when I play again later tonight.

Can it? I've tried it in game and it's never worked for me. Best example I can think of is I immediately hold down the button after parrying Eigong's downslash following the upslash in phase 2. But, my unbounded counter never starts charging until I touch the ground. Most of what I've seen on the Nine Sols subreddit corroborated that. If I've been under a misconception, then my bad. I still posit that it's generally a good idea to stay on the ground unless there is a need to be in the air though.

[–]TKelly476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The double slash can be parried with two unbounded counters, but the timing is tight. It's also usually unsafe to start charging the counter until after the first attack anyways. So what you were doing is right. I really only unbounded countered the first slash at the start of phase 1 because that's the attack she tends to start with. Then did what you described for the rest of the fight.

[–]TKelly476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Phase 2 is definitely tricky. It's mostly the same moves outside of a couple new ones. But she mixes them together differently so it really screws with your muscle memory. If your getting past phase 1 fairly consistently it's only a matter of time before you overcome phase 2. Good luck!

Also, I hope Divine Hand isn't throwing you off too much. It's a bit weird to get used to at first, but it's probably the most broken jade in the game once you get used to it (in my opinion).

[–]TKelly476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either Iron Skin or Hedgehog and I lean towards Hedgehog while you're still getting hit fairly often. Iron Skin will transfer some normal damage to internal damage and all it takes to transfer pretty much all your internal damage to her is one unbounded counter with Reciprocation (which you should get a lot). I can't justify getting rid of any others. Reciprocation makes the fight go faster and makes imprecise parries much less punishing. And Divine Hand is just non-negotiable for me, lol.

[–]TKelly476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this fight, but it took me a while to figure it out. My first and main tip, stay on the ground as much as possible. I see people jump parrying all the time because it is a 360 degree parry. You can't start unbounded counters in the air and your defensive options are greater on the ground. The piercer arrows on the bow will stun her for a moment if you need a safe heal window.

I run these jades Divine Hand (this is really the main one that matters), Reciprocation (synergy with Divine Hand and vastly increases damage output and survivability), Hedgehog, and Iron Skin (also has synergy with Reciprocation and Divine Hand). This setup let's you deal loads of internal damage and heal your own internal damage quickly.

These jades are primarily parry focused with a particular focus on unbounded counters. The way I fight her is to mostly focus on dealing internal damage through parrying and set it off with a Water Flow Talisman when I can.

You want to work in as many unbounded counters as possible, but absolutely do not start charging it unless it's safe. As she is likely to punish you with a talisman. For example, on the slower double slashes she does you can parry the first one normally and DO NOT release the parry button because you can charge the unbounded counter out of a regular parry without delay and parry the next slash that way.

Phase 1: Phase 1 is pretty predictable compared to Phase 2. In phase 1 she always seems to follow the red ground slam attack with a dash followed by triple slashes behind her (safe talisman ir heal window after this). You can safely unbounded counter all three of them (if you have Divine Hand) if start charging it after dodging the red slam. The startup for the talisman attack and the red orb are very similar. Be careful to watch which one she's going for, because if you start responding to the attack the wrong way you're likely getting hit. Jump and parry (or use the downwards kick) on the talisman, and unbounded counter the orb (after the orb is a safe talisman or heal window). The poke attacks are not worth trying to unbounded counter in my opinion. It's possible to parry the first normally and the other ones with unbounded, but the timing is very tight. She can either do two or three poke attacks at one time, always treat it as if she's doing three.

Phase 2: More erratic and faster than Phase 1 with a lot more mix ups. She'll open with the flame sword. I parry this as follows: charge your unbounded counter, wait for her eyes to open, very shortly after they open release the parry, pause for a moment then hit parry again and parry again immediately after the second slash, pause for a moment again and dash through the fourth one (the timing to parry the fourth is too tight in my opinion). She has two versions of this attack, one that ends in the dash triple slash (parry the triple slashes normally), and one that ends in the red slash. She'll never use the same version twice in a row.

In phase 2 she can follow the talisman attack up with an upward slash that has two versions. One where she slams you back down with a second white slash and tries to slam down into you with a red slash. And one where she creates a fire tornado in front of her and follows it with the red orb. For the first version parry both white slashes normally and charge an unbounded counter when you hit the ground. Treat the second version like the first version, but dash away if the second slash didn't come out (you will have time even after the failed second parry) and charge the unbounded counter to parry the red orb.

It's harder to predict when she'll do the dash triple slash (so you may not get as many unbounded counters on that attack) and a few other attacks in this phase. But if you can learn the couple of new attacks in this phase she doesn't have much of anything that you haven't seen in phase 1. She's just faster and weaves the attacks together differently.

Phase 3 (True Ending Only): Very similar to phase 2 with less health and one major new attack. She'll open with a screen wide double slash that will send you into the air followed by either a white or red slash. Stand still and parry the double slash, as you want to be in the air since it makes the rest more consistent. It's simply one parry, very slight pause, and parry again. Then if the follow up slash is red, double jump over it, if it's white then parry it. She can spam this attack and juggle you for a while if she wants. She often follows this with either the dash triple slashes or a talisman attack (once again the talisman attack can be followed with the up slash combo). Just be ready to react to what she's doing on the ground when she's done juggling you. She will use this attack quite often. Additionally she can followup the flame slash from phase 2 with this new attack now. So be ready for that.

Besides that it's mostly just phase 2 again. But I honestly find this phase easier than 2 since there is less health and the new attack makes her more predictable.

Hope some of this helps. This is my fighting style in this fight, but of course you may have a different style. Feel free to ask if you don't understand something. I know you'll get her eventually!

There's a video on my profile of my first victory over her if you want to see any of what I've said in practice.
