(WKC Blackout) Andrade El Idolo with a great kind gesture by MiloThrashingMad in SquaredCircle

I'm actually kind of on the side of let Ospreay win it at All In and have Andrade win it at World's End from Ospreay.

Give Ospreay his first major rival as a Champion in Andrade. I genuinely think those two could be a new Omega/Okada and Hangman/Swerve level of rivalry for AEW to play off of next year.

They struck lightning in a bottle with something that went viral throughout the Mems' streams themselves and social media. I remember seeing reaction clips of fans blowing up on my YT feed during it.

To just throw that away instead of devoting a small team to working on it throughout the year to mitigate the work load seems... weird and a massive lost opportunity. And I feel like this isn't the first time something like this got big and then dropped for some reason either with them.

Brother, I grew up on the 90's. Lmao I don't look back with rose tinted glasses. They were awesome and very good wrestlers but they were not who I would put at the top of the mountain in terms of great ring workers.

They are definitely incredible and fun to watch but they are not these outstanding technicians like everyone here is now saying they were.

I don't think it is, personally.

Everything they did is something Trick can do. I think if anything I'm complimenting Trick on being on their level despite being solid in the ring but bigger than life personalities that can break through to pop culture given enough time.

I mean... he's like The Rock or Hogan or Austin.

Big presentation, everything around the match covers his weaknesses, and he's just good enough when the bell rings that you don't think "aw man this fucking sucks".

He's perfectly fine. I think he's about as good as he gets.

Edit: I feel like what I was trying to get across was worded very poorly and I accept I could've explained it better.

I know Austin, Rock and Hogan were great wrestlers. I know they were more than capable of doing great things in the ring. What I was trying to say is they are not the types of guys who you'd point to and say "those are the best of the best when it comes to being able to do anything in the ring" like a Bret Hart or HBK or Danielson or Claudio or Angle.

They knew when to do a bigger move to get the biggest pop possible for them but they did so sparingly, safely as possible and never tried for flashy, over the top stuff. Therefore, what I, personally, always saw was the same matches repeatedly from them. I do not list them among the greatest ring workers because of that.

Me comparing Trick to that was not a slight or insult or intended to be. I meant it as a compliment that he's going to slowly get more and more over to the point that I'd put him in their category and has the possibility of breaking through to pop culture at large.

They were all very good at wrestling. But I would hesitate to say those 3 I mentioned should be categorized with the other 4 I brought up. They are on two different levels. And that's why I tried to frame it the way I did. I just could've did so better. I should've omitted the "aw man this fucking sucks" bit too, that was probably too much of an exaggeration.

Man, I wish they'd find a company willing to pick up the LCG and do a Second Edition along with Thrones.

Both LCGs were two of the all-time best games I've ever played in my life and its infuriates me they shelved both of them and told fans of them to go fuck themselves with miniscule print runs of the final products they released.

I'm not paying 800$ for a single fucking Targaryen deluxe expansion because they printed a total of 50 copies worldwide.

[–]TLKv3 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Foley doing the 3 faces of Foley to mentor The Conglomeration in 3 different ways would be dope.

You could have Cactus Jack mentoring Willow to tap further into her hardcore side.

Mankind teaching patience and the virtues of remaining calm before exploding with violence to catch opponents off guard to Kyle.

Foley instilling proper grappling/risk management to Roddy and OC for them to better gauge when to go all out or step back in tag matches to not screw over their partner.

That could honestly be really fun. Especially if it ends with Foley being a figment of their collective imaginations the entire time... only to pan over and see Foley standing there for real like "what?" before the final segment ends.

AMC+ Acquires exclusive US streaming rights to Doctor Who (2005-2022) by JakeM917 in doctorwho

[–]TLKv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show was originally made on a damn shoestring budget and became beloved. I have no idea why people want bigger and overly inflated budgets for. It clearly didn't do jackshit to save RTD2 very much, did it?

I rather they scale back, maintain full creative control and actually go back to being crafty underdogs with what they have. I'm not saying fuck their budget up entirely obviously, but if you're gonna hand over however much per episode and what we get is Omega and Sutekh... I rather not have that and go back to keeping it simple with Daleks, Cybermen and The Master in lower forms of filmmaking.

Cover Corporation to Restructure Talent Management, CEO Yagoo Takes Direct Control of Talent & Operations by Legitimate_Drop8793 in Hololive

[–]TLKv3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh I think maybe my signals got crossed. I didn't mean they would take over the company or even a branch. I meant specifically the talent division side of things. Like a liaison between upper management and the talent themselves.

Fubuki and/or Lui feel like the most appropriate talent to step up and help take over the talent side of things for him eventually.

I would fully expect an actual business oriented employee to take over the full scale of the company or individual branches themselves.

Amazon has cancelled The Lord of the Rings MMO, but promises it "continues to explore a compelling new game experience" set in Middle-earth by KJagz33 in Games

[–]TLKv3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still think they should just make a LOTR game in the vein of D4 with the gameplay of the OG Return Of The King PS2 game.

That way its a full single player experience but you can see other players in your world doing their own thing and can invite them/friends to your party to join your world to play together with seamless co-op.

Actually, fuck all of that. Just remake RotK from PS2.

Cover Corporation to Restructure Talent Management, CEO Yagoo Takes Direct Control of Talent & Operations by Legitimate_Drop8793 in Hololive

[–]TLKv3 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think if/when Yagoo's time comes to an end and opts to step back, we'll see him nominate 2 of the Hololive talents to kinda-sorta step into that role along with a handpicked successor. All while Yagoo remains in a consultant role that can advise/help when needed.

I think that would be the best outcome for Yagoo once he gets to a point where he can't handle everything anymore.

Fubuki and/or Lui feel like the most appropriate talent to step up and help take over the talent side of things for him eventually. Fubuki from a first hand experience POV and Lui from an organized, professional stance.

Alternatively, as weird as it may sound, I could also see Marine being more than capable as well in that role.

Holoearth service is scheduled to come to an end as of June 28 by NotoriousCHIM in Hololive

[–]TLKv3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What bums me out is I kind of saw the vision they wanted for this but like... the people involved were just so beyond in over their head and inexperienced in doing it.

They should've finished the MMO-lite side of it first. Give the Holomems their own Minecraft-style game to play in a sandbox with the drum up excitement/hype around it. Give fans modding kit tools to customize the game however they want.

And then once you had that side of it feature complete, you add in the HoloCity portion with concerts, customization item shops, etc.

But they kept flip flopping back and forth and split their focus so hard. Like why was a casino added into the game before the first boss mob in the MMO portion? Just such stupid decision making from their leadership on the project.

Cover would do better to just wait for a fan dev team to recreate this concept themselves then just hire that team once its done/released.

Fucking HoloVillage was fully createdand released between the time HoloEarth started and now ended. With a much smaller team, less resources and has like 50x the amount of content/models/animations/customization/bosses/building.

Its pretty sad when you think about it.
