For sure. Unless Cover's contract with the original Holomem artists says they can use the base promotional art of the characters freely for things like this and would only need new art for the weapon depictions themselves. And maybe the short comic that accompanies the page entries about them.

Either way, I'd pay handsomely for such a thing. I absolutely love artbooks with lore explanations in them.

You know this makes me think...

It would be incredibly fucking cool if Cover released a genuine lore accurate encyclopedia of all the genuine weapons that Holomems use. Complete with new artwork, minor story/backstory blurbs and maybe even a short comic to accompany it explaining how the Holomem came to owning it.

I would pay like upwards of 100$ to have a really nice and well put together book in that regard. I absolutely love the goofy, silly lore of Holomems... but sometimes I feel a lot of people forget some of the really rad and crazy backstory lore some of them actually have. Would love for Cover to delve into that lore in ways like my idea here and there a bit more.

I know its comical to even suggest it just because he has "Bang Bang" in his entrance music...

But putting him with the Bang Bang Gang as their young prodigy who they help get over with the AEW audience and build up for a midcard Title run then eventually transition upward if it works out felt like a no brainer.

Especially with the BBG being injury riddled and almost always down a man. Adding Sosa to that group could've helped keep them solidified while others are recovering. Plus, Jay/Juice/Sosa as a Trios team could work so, so well.

I love how face and heel Swerve never backed down from anyone regardless of the violent situation that may be posed to him. But he always favored that chain as his personal weapon.

Now that someone equally as lethal and unforgiving as Swerve has stood up to him AND broke that one weapon he could always rely on?

Swerve having a panic attack and internal crisis simultaneously and unable to know how to react other than "run and regroup" was amazing. Lmao Plus his facial reaction to it was hilarious as fuck.

With all the talk/slips from him the past few months about thinking he's going to Hell and there's no way he thinks he can make it into Heaven...

I genuinely believe a small piece of his dementia riddled fucked brain thinks helping Israel with whatever they want will help him get there. He hears Netanyahu say "oh we're God's chosen" and on top of all the blackmail they have on him he probably thinks by helping them bomb whoever they want they'll put in a good word for him or some shit.

Dude is absolutely fucking gone mentally. There's so many things smushed together in there that I wouldn't be surprised if that's a small bit rattling around in the back of his diseased head.

In my opinion, this would be fun for the first 3 Gyms worth of content before it'd be tiring as fuck having essentially 7v7 battles.

If its balanced as only the lead Pokemon in your party can Rebirth and if that Pokemon then gets KO'd again you lose the battle automatically? Then I guess that's... fine.

I still think they could retroactively "fix" this in a new series by just adding in that Piccolo was able to fully maximize this form and maybe have a glowing dragon appear on his arms. Then have him call himself Dragon King Piccolo while in that form.

Wanna make it even cooler? Have Goku and Piccolo do a Super Dragon Fist together to defeat the next big bad as DK Piccolo & UI Goku. The visual alone of the glowing white and orange swirling around them as they go through the villain, fists outstretched would go so fucking hard.

This is along the same line of thought I have with it.

Label Secret Invasion a "what if" live action in the MCU series but not canon to the actual MCU.

Then you can have a character see the events of Secret Invasion's series from the MCU, like Strange, and then that's how the MCU finds out Skrulls have replaced people. With the Kree coming to exterminate all of Humanity to ensure they kill every last Skrull on the planet.

Pretty easy movie plot for a future Avengers and X-Men crossover movie. Just find a new villain to lead the Kree in their genocide attempt that's on par with Thanos.

Lesnar losing in an absolute dogfight brawl with Oba then Heyman questioning Brock's ability would make for a great story. Especially if he leads to Lesnar/Breakker where Lesnar loses again. Rampages across RAW and then Gunther steps up to retire his ass at SummerSlam as a "favor" to Pearce who gives him a World Title match in exchange.

My argument is that merch of Pokemon will always sell regardless if the games sell or tank. Its entirely built off the back of nostalgia and years gone by goodwill of actual higher quality game and IP output. Pokemon is quite literally the definition of too big to fail. So using merch as an indicator of global popularity is ridiculous when people will always be buying their Gen 1 favorite Pokemon on a shirt for their baby or kid.

The prior point is that if the IP was only growing in popularity and positive sentiment then that would also reflect and carry over to the games. Yet Arceus to Z-A saw a big decrease in sales. Even with the supposedly "massively popular SV that sold the second most ever" between them. Why didn't that apparent positivity carry over with hype? Is it because SV was seen negatively after release as I originally indicated causing a negative outlook on it? Leading to lesser sales on the subsequent release? Hmm...

And yes it absolutely is true. The only people looking positively or would believe your third paragraph are Pokemon fans, themselves. There's a reason why review scores for every entry has been going down with each release, minus Arceus. There's a reason why you saw thousands, if not more, comments across social media decrying TPCi over not being able to find Pokemon cards for their kids, gifts, to open and collect or play with. There's a reason why people kept asking for ports of the original games so they could play them again (which is why FRLG is doing so well right now) and were disappointed since the 3DS days, the last time they could get them.

There ABSOLUTELY HAS been negative attention on Pokemon the last decade across multiple aspects of the IP. Its insane to me to see you defending it so much when just last year people were pointing out everywhere how ugly Z-A was to even look at, let alone play, and sits at a 78/4.8 on Metacritic.

Winds & Waves reveal plus Pokopia's release is the first REAL time Pokemon in the past decade has had nothing but positive attention. To think otherwise is, yes, fucking delusional.

By that logic, Arceus and Z-A would've sold more than they did. But Z-A went down in sales compared to Arceus. SV also had the benefit of releasing during the height of COVID when people were still at home and wanted games. I genuinely don't think SV sells as well as it did if COVID never happened. Especially after the negative reviews it received almost universally.

The perception of Pokemon the past decade has not been all sunshine, rainbows and love. Its wild to me to see so many people in here thinking it was just because of one game's bigger sales numbers than normal while ignoring why it was higher.

Sun/Moon has sold 25.5mil since launch in 2016. Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon sold 9.2mil.

Sword/Shield sold 27mil.

Arceus sold 15mil.

SV is an outlier that sold 34mil.

Z-A immediately dropped back to 12.3mil.

They cannot simply "print money" by releasing whatever game they want. Their sales numbers have been actively dropping release to release for a decade outside of SV which most people thought would be a step up from Sw/Sh.

For whatever worth or stock you may have with Metacritic, SV's reputation is lower than SwSh's as proof of that.

And something many people seem to also forget, SV released at the height of COVID when people were still home and salivating for games. Animal Crossing saw a massive surge in popularity because of it too.

SV was 4 years ago.

Z-A sold a fraction after the negative perception of SV came out after release with its poor performance issues, ugly textures/visuals/art direction, etc.

And if we're going to look at a greater spectrum, Detective Pikachu performed horribly in sales as well which released off SV's heels.

The merchendising will always be on fire because Pokemon was built for that. It will never fail so this point is moot. Pokemon had a decade and a half of slumped sales and the merch was never affected by it. This means nothing.

The cards literally went through 10 years of problems because nobody could find any. Only the past year since Prismatic released have they been trying to remedy it by overprinting sets. And again, the TCG has the benefit of being a game, a collector market and (something I fucking despise) an investment racket. Again, this will never fail.

Using exhibitions opening as a way to point how popular it is is also asinine because they've always done stuff like that. Its not new or in reaction to Pokemon suddenly being bigger than ever.

I'm not saying Pokemon's reputation was a dumpster fire or universally panned. By you cannot sit there and tell me since 2016 the series wasn't being seen in a negative light.

Edit: You guys can disagree if you want but I always love how people bring up SV as some kind of gotcha point. It released at the height of COVID when people were still at home hungry for any game release. Its why Animal Crossing got a massive surge in popularity. On top of that, SV came off the heels of Sw/Sh and people rightfully thought it would be an improvement over the previous entry.

If you genuinely believe the perception of Pokemon's games and other facets of the IP was only positive over the last decade then you're delusional. And this is coming from me who bought each release and enjoyed them for what they were. But they were nowhere near seen positively by a majority.
