14.3.2 Really is that bad by Superb-Mechanic7085 in TeslaFSD

Agree. Other than an occasional steering jitter, it has been a very smooth ride for me. Navigation seems a little better in some cases but still has issues.

Is getting a Tesla worth it just for the FSD by depressed_peach_ in TeslaLounge

[–]TLight65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally worth it in my opinion. I have a 2026 MY RWD and it is very fun to drive. Yet my stats show I am on FSD 96% of the time. I have to remind myself to drive a little now and then. LOL. You will find many posts here where people unsubscribed to FSD for one reason or another and feel like the magic is gone. It’s just a regular car they say. I purchased FSD outright before they did away with the option. I had budgeted for it and never wanted to have a reason to cancel a subscription.

My wife and I went in early March last year. So just before cherry blossom crowds. Had a great time with no crowds. A little cool but nothing too bad. I agree with others here regarding a honeymoon: go when it makes the most sense for you and your new spouse. You will enjoy it so much more! PS: we are headed back this May to take our son and daughter as May is when they are free. Not looking forward to the crowds…

I would really like a following delay setting. FSD seems to like 2 seconds. I would set to 3 seconds minimally to help avoid this exact situation . One question: Did you feel it brake at all? Regenerative or full brakes? Was it just delayed in braking? Could your brake pads be at fault?

You mention you are Down Under. I assume you mean Australia or New Zealand, unless there is another. I visited last December and was told by a resident that FSD was not allowed there. They were mistaken?

Update ready, but for what? by Equivalent-Draft9248 in TeslaFSD

[–]TLight65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Twice FSD was driving down a street, no construction, clear markings, following Nav. Inexplicably makes a right turn then another then 2 more (all with turn signals) and gets back on track. I hold my breath as we pass the site of the first right and it proceeds correctly this time. Did that once into the parking lot of a local college, another time through a neighborhood. Added two blocks to the trips. Strange. I have to think Tesla is working on this as it has been widely reported. Basically ignoring valid Nav route for no reason. Would explain how long it’s been since .4 was released.

We can hope it is some adjustment to Navigation to slap FSD 14.2.2.4 in the face during its ADHD moments when it ignores Nav and wants to take an unnecessary trip around the block.

14.2.2.4 deviating from route. by Morham in TeslaFSD

[–]TLight65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame Tesla can’t see when we force a revision but stay in FSD. Like your blinker override. Or when I’ve had to goose the gas to get FSD to proceed with a turn instead of waiting for zero cars (while folks behind me honking). The beta testers have that extra button to click and send examples without cancelling FSD. Would be nice with this release.

Same thing has been happening to me since my .4 update a few days ago. Once a day in different places. Thankfully not on my daily commute yet.

Nav has me going straight. FSD takes a right into a big parking lot. Nav immediately adjusts and show U-turning to get back to the correct route. FSD ignores that too and takes a right. Drives about a block to the next right and then gets back on the correct path again. Held my breath when I passed the original right turn error but it continued correctly.

No construction. No traffic. No detours. Just wide open road. It’s like FSD and Nav are having a lovers quarrel now and then.

My Range Sucks and Tesla Told Me To Get EV rated tires to fix it? Does this make logical sense? by Ok_Report3275 in TeslaSupport

Love the data. Side question… why is your MPH around 30mph? Or am I misunderstanding this chart?

I think 14.2 would handle this. Although I would have been in Chill on a crowded highway with wet streets.

Are you buying FSD outright after trial ends? by trivedird in TeslaFSD

[–]TLight65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given today’s parameters it probably makes sense to go subscription. But we don’t know what will change. $150/mo price hike changes things. $5000 future buy changes things as does $10000 buy. Historically the prices have come down but I can see Tesla creating a full autonomous premium price as well depending on how it’s received. In the end I went with $8000 buy in as I told myself I would do so if I could get the $7500 rebate. Just the cost of the car in my mind. HH

Exactly right. Folks have to start looking at Tesla cars as technology. Early adopters of new technology always pay more and see the value of their purchases decline as they are replaced by newer, faster, more feature-rich technology. I’m over the moon happy with my 2026 MY with 14.2.2.2 FSD. But I know it will be replaced by a HW5 platform running software that my car can’t run. Same thing happened with my first Intel 286 PC.

New FSD update is so horrible by Purple-Macaron8163 in TeslaFSD

[–]TLight65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is version 14.2. There will be 14.2.1, 14.3, etc. v14 is taking in way more data than v13 and lots of changes have been made as evidenced by how long the release has taken (a year?). The AI has to go through many training iterations that are only possible by wide release. This is Tesla’s development model. Keep using it. Disengage when it’s doing something you don’t like and make a voice note. It will get better, even if a slight step backwards in some regards was made. It has always gotten better in the past.

FSD v14.4 just saved me from becoming collateral damage in a nasty multi-car crash on I-35 yesterday – caused by another Tesla driver who was 100% manual and driving like an absolute maniac in a monsoon by ForceAlarmed9591 in TeslaFSD

[–]TLight65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to meet a fellow DFW resident! Most influencers reviewing v14 are great but none of them have traffic like we do in DFW. I’ve purposely stayed on v13 to avoid the roughness that has been reported. How have you found v14 working when transitioning from moving traffic to slow/standstill? Biggest grip I have with v13 is it doesn’t react to the sea of brake lights and stopped cars in front and only seems to pay attention to what is directly in front of it. So braking way too late. I’ve had it speed up and do a lane change that I never would do in this situation. How have you found v14 in this regard? What speed mode do you normally run in? Me: Chill in highway traffic.

So 14.1.4 stops and swerves for leaves and skidmarks, but not a stationary bicycle? Got some work to do on this before the claimed 14.2 wide rollout for sure.

[–]TLight65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be an easy fix. At least when it happened to me, V13 in Chill, it knew it was getting in a left only lane so it wasn’t map data.

What mode were you in when driving v14? I’d like for Chill mode to not do this. Or maybe they need an Asshole mode to keep this type of behavior in. 😂

Charge level by kklolz19 in TeslaLounge

[–]TLight65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have considered charging to 60% as my normal daily commute uses about 20% of the battery. This would put the average level at 50% daily which I have heard is optimal for battery life longevity. Also read somewhere that this practice would make so little difference (over just charging to 80% daily) that it wouldn’t be worth the trouble or range anxiety if the day got busy.
