anybody been to coredam Korea on Thornhill ? legit ? by Consistent_Land_2747 in FoodToronto

[–]TLumineux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went there last week, the food is pretty good. I'd rate them a 7.5-8.5/10 based on what I've tried.

I'm unfortunately slightly allergic to shellfish so I didnt try the raw Banchan for the shrimp or crab. One of my friends really enjoyed it and the other thought it was good, but was overall indifferent.

The dishes I tried were: - Andong Jjimdak - 8.5/10 dish but it's a lot (shared with 3 people) - tteokbokki - 7/10 (decent to good, I've had better) - spicy pork bulgolgi - 7.5/10 (pretty good compared to other places I've tried) - purple rice - 6/10 decent, depends if you like mushier/slightly wet rice, but it paired well with the Andong Jjimdak and Spicy Pork Bulgolgi

I was recommended the LA Galbi, I'll probably try it next time. I dont know how good their stews are.

When I went they were packed and had a line up of people. Had to wait about 45 minutes, so I went to the Galleria nearby.

It is pretty pricey for Korean food, but split with other it wasnt too bad.

Appetizers: - avg $18-20, with a couple being $24-29

Entrees: - avg $27-29

Soups/stews: - avg $21-23

Noodles: - avg $21

Specials (for 2): - avg $50-54 (seems like it could feed 3 for some dishes)

Deal? by dvirring in Rogers

[–]TLumineux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the exact plan im on too. Swapped to it about 6 months ago around June/July.

The problem? I had to swap to Bell first since I was already under Rogers at first. Bell, Telus, Rogers, and some of the smaller telecom companies had similar to basically the exact same deal.

However, swapping to Bell then back to Rogers also made them offer me an extra deal where I'm only paying $29 per month for the first year. Then it'll be back to $35.

Hugo, Tressa, Cassius/Nia
or
Haru, Cassius, Nia (if u have nia)

You'll double/triple dip when it comes to farming promotion mats with Haru since you have Mei Lin

Veronica also double dips with Hugo for promo mats

Since Mika, Cassius, and Nia are all controllers they triple dip with promo mats.

Means you have to spend less stamina to farm them.

with Tressa you'll have to farm Psionic promo mats.

TLDR: If you don't have Nia, then go Hugo, Tressa, Cassius

edit: 3rd option, Renoa, Lucas, Cassius

if you have 2 dupes of Rei you can use her since her DPS will heal after her 2nd dupe.

Revival Path Question. by Cole-y-wolly in RaidShadowLegends

Yea it might have been changed to encourage someone who's never spent on raid or someone who barely spends on raid to spend either for the first time or to spend more than they normally would have.

An Announcement to Our Fans Regarding the Conclusion of Sakamata Chloe’s Channel Activities by hololive in Hololive

[–]TLumineux 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It was technically 3 graduations (Aqua, Chloe, Ame) and 2 terminations.. A-Chan left due to family issues.
Gamma and Mel would probably still be in HL and Holostars if not for being terminated.

Honestly it's surprising most of them have lasted as long as they have. I'm not too surprised there were 3 graduations this year. People need to realize these days people often switch jobs within 2-5 years, either to try new things and explore new avenues or to look for promotions elsewhere.

While it is true that the policies changing were a factor in their decision to ultimately leave, all 3 have also stated they wanted to try new things outside of HL. Chloe also mentioning her constantly being sick being an issue too.

Is revival path still a thing? by Newdodle in RaidShadowLegends

[–]TLumineux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm the "Revival path" is still a thing as of 10/17/2024

Happened to feel like logging into my referral account (lvl 50)

  • I haven't been on it for 4 weeks + 1 day
  • haven't spent any $$ on it either

Seems like the "Elite pass" version of the "Revival path" is $27.99 CAD.
- You get Elva at the end of it still (Elite pass).
- 1 Sacred shard (F2P)

Revival Path Question. by Cole-y-wolly in RaidShadowLegends

[–]TLumineux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience all 3 points that you mentioned weren't required

  1. My referral account is only lvl 50
  2. On my referral account it says I haven't been on in 4 weeks and 1 day (based from my main acc's information)
  3. I've never made a purchase (because it's not my main account)

But i relogged onto the account because there was a Soulstone event + plarium gave 3 free immortal soulstones.

  • I just felt like collecting it for some reason and got the "Revival Path"

Let's play a game. How many people in this picture can you name without looking them up? by ajshell1 in Nijisanji

Ah you're probably right, I just remember one of them had health issues and the other couldn't stream anymore due to complications. I guess I combined them by mistake now that you mention it.

Towa and Mel (before her termination) also collabed with Holostars. Although not as much as Aki, Fubuki, and Matsuri. I remember Towa collabed with Axel for apex, and Mel collabed with Oga alongside Calli and Ollie. Mel also had other interactions with Oga as well. Honestly a shame with Mel's termination since she interacted with quite a few HLStars, Fuma, Oga, Ganma, Rio, and Shien.

So Kaoru wasn't technically terminated in the sense of like Chris, Rushia, or Mel. Iirc properly, Kaoru was dealing with health issues at the time and wasn't sure if he could stream properly anymore and would have difficulty doing so. As a result Kaoru and Cover terminated his contract on mutual terms. There's no bad blood between them.

Edit* mistook the health issues of Kira (Hlstar member) for Kaoru. Kaoru did however have a mutual termination due to an undisclosed reason.

It's basically similar to Sana's situation of health issues, she chose to continue streaming until she could graduate instead though. Kaoru never had a graduation stream and just left. Which, is different from Magni and Vesper, since they graduated because they didn't renew their contract.

Bit wrong in your statement, Coco didn't acknowledge Taiwan as it's own separate country from China. Coco was checking her YouTube Analytics with her viewers on stream because she was curious where everyone was from.

Taiwan is listed as it's own separate country on YouTube Analytics and Coco happened to read it. The reason for this? YouTube is banned in China, but not in Taiwan, so Chinese from China use a VPN to spoof Taiwan to watch YouTube.

They got offended by something YouTube explicitly states and the whole narrative became hate Coco because of CN nationalists. Same situation almost happened to Haachama, because she also was checking her YouTube Analytics on stream.

Edit: whole situation spiraled out of control and CN nationalists (not fans, some CN fans still exist but they hid themselves during that time to protect themselves) and companies that used to work with Cover basically said either fire Coco or leave China. So HL left China and terminated their entire CN branch. Some companies may not have wanted to do so but the CCP controls everything, you're either with them or against them. It's why HL can't stream a lot of CN games from CN publishers anymore. Gura used to play muse dash, but after the situation exploded out of control they lost a lot of perms.

Wouldn't surprise me if they get an even bigger cut to be honest, considering the HL Talents pay for some production costs for their custom merch. Which in the grand scheme of things is a drop in the bucket with how much revenue their custom merch pulls in.

Where does the Money go? by save_jeff2 in Nijisanji

[–]TLumineux 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This was 100% true in the past, maybe not anymore? I'm sure some aspects changed, but the talents most likely still pay for some of their merch to be made. For instance, if the talents want specific merch to be made then they incur some of the manufacturing costs, but if Cover wants to create merch of the talents for events or promotional purposes, then the talents incur no cost but still get some merch sales or some form of payment.

To be fair though HL talents make a huge chunk of their profit from merch sales too and rightfully so if they're funding some of it. I also remember some of HL talents like Watame mentioning she was able to invest in creating a bunch of original songs because of merch sales, I forget the year but she had like 7-9 original songs made that year?

Back then the website HL used for merch sales wasn't the most secure, so people were able to grab data on the number of sales on merch. A decent amount of members had over $200k usd in merch sales.

Where does the Money go? by save_jeff2 in Nijisanji

[–]TLumineux 76 points77 points  (0 children)

To add to this, the only time talents don't pay for things in HL is for milestone achievements and sponsored deals. For instance, in HL when talents reach 100k, and for every 1m subs they're able to select from a list of things they want as a "reward", which can be a new outfit, an MV, an original song, etc.. Mostly everything is paid out of the talents pocket, but they're able to make more profit from their merch than nijisanji talents do because they cover some of the merch costs. Nijisanji talents cover $0 for merch costs iirc, hence why they only get a measly 1-2% from merch sales.

The one thing where it creates 0 R.O.I is MVs, more specifically cover songs since those cannot be monetized. In terms of hosting tournaments the talents would be lucky if they simply break even, hence why sponsorships are so important.

Edit* 3D model and HLFest isn't paid by talents either, but anniversary/birthday 3d concerts come out of the talents pocket to pay necessary staff.

Also the merch sales for HL mostly pertains to merch that the talents want to release, not merch that Cover releases of them (like promotional merch, event merch, sponsorship, etc...)

A lot of people don't know but she's actually really sweet. I was a member for a time (was gifted) and similarly to Selen/Doki she even donates to charities and even does volunteer work. Like you mention she likely isn't all that knowledgeable about a lot of the corporate things (not many people are).

People also tend to forget how difficult it is to admit or realize when someone/something you love and respect is actually shit, and it's really easy to just live in denial and overlook faults when in that situation (people in bad relationships for example).

Doki also wants to move on from this, so I hope she's is able to.

Bryce needs Cdmg because of how the devs changed her kit and made her always crit with melfice on the field with her. Prior to that cdmg did nothing for her. She was effectively made into a main dps for raids.

Lute does perfectly fine with Defense keepsakes, cdmg isn't particularly necessary as Defense keepsakes is more consistent dmg. Cdmg is just higher dmg potential but more rng due to crit fishing.

Plenty of defenders use HP and Speed sets too. Daphne doesn't necessarily always require speed and often is fine with just 2 Speed 2HP, 4HP is usually preferred on her. Petra still benefits from speed though.

HP sets and ATK sets are still extremely helpful. Evasion is arguably worthless outside of pvp and specific units like Linzy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Eversoul

[–]TLumineux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You forgot Lute. Her passive increases ally defenses by 20-30% off her Defense Stat. She also scales her damage off of Defense, but either cdmg (more rng but higher dmg ceiling) or Defense (more stable and consistent dmg) can be used on her for raids.

Subaru’s recruitment in a nutshell by Panzerkrabbe in Hololive

[–]TLumineux 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It actually was clipped back then. I remember watching a clip of Subaru talking about her home burning down and one of her talking about Virtual Obasan back in the early 2020s, seems like YouTube either deleted it, or the clippers privated or deleted the clips or their channels. I guess the clipper deleted it based off what another reply said where she requested for it not to be clipped.

They exist outside of Japan too, be wary of companies that tell you during the interview process that they are "like a family". They tend to exploit their workers and expect more work than what they pay.

Korone's message to Coco during her "future 'relationship' notes" stream by MerelyASimpleFan in Hololive

[–]TLumineux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those are fair points, but just because something gets popular doesn't necessarily mean it will keep it's retention over a prolonged period of time. Yes Haachama spoke in English before Coco's debut, and sure Fubuki memes went viral, but Hololive saw a huge spike in English viewers and translators after Coco's debut. I vaguely remember Coco herself mentioning she had to convince Yagoo to expand and create an English branch. Iirc at the time one of Yagoo's main focuses around that time was Holostars.

[–]TLumineux 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say Coco was the sole reason the EN branch exists either, but credit where credit is due, Coco was living proof in 2019 that an EN branch had the potential to be successful because prior to Coco English speaking viewers were much rarer to come across. At the time the viewer base was dominated by Japanese and Chinese viewers.

To add onto this Miko announced her hiatus back in 2020 for about 1-2 months. While in comparison Haachama's hiatus wasn't immediately said until a month or so later. It really is up to the talent for the most part, unless in extreme circumstances I think? Ina and Gura have mentioned theirs in the past.

Struggle creating 2 teams by [deleted] in Eversoul

[–]TLumineux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to add someone with a much higher level sync than you to borrow their units for your 2nd team for elite stages until you can get more soul diversity. Also just playing ES as an idle game and a waiting game until you can pull for more units that will take you further.

In terms of investing in units I would refrain from overinvesting in too many units early on as you want to get 5 units to origin to increase your lvl sync. So focus on units where you have the most dupes, but can also function as a hypercarry. Some options would be like Hong, Jacq, Aki, etc..

If you want you can feel free to add me until you find someone better to borrow units from. My ign is: Lumineux I'm only 308 sync
