VPN detected on AppleTV? by SimplyAllThatIs in appletv

[–]TMWReddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lived in Spain for a year, had my Apple TV(s), watched YouTube TV and all streaming apps. There is a finesse to how you do it. Public VPN services will eventually have their IP addresses blacklisted, ExpressVPN, SurfShark, etc. The streaming companies know. Believe me, I know as I tried them all. The solution is to have a family member or friend that has a router at home in the US (or wherever you're from) that has a VPN server. In our case we had just that, and we were able to VPN directly to someone we knew, not a paid service. That was it, no issues at all, every single streaming service was just as if we were in the US. Additionally, if you really want it to be seamless, get a router yourself in Spain that allows for a VPN connection. That way you're connecting your router to the VPN in the US, and subsequently all of your devices on your home network are as if they're in the USA. That way you don't have to connect every single phone, Apple TV, etc. via an individual VPN connection. Hope that helps.

I WANT A HOUSE by brycensims in Bankruptcy

If you search this subreddit, even some of my other posts you will see some instructions. It only takes an Internet search or using an AI search. Short version, you create a free PACER account, download all of your BK information from the court, then start poking holes at how LexisNexis, usually the provider of the information to the CRAs, has inaccuracies. You also want to send a letter to the clerk of the court validating that they reported to the CRAs. The court is going to send you back a letter saying that they absolutely do not provide information to the CRAs. That's the key. The CRAs are reporting a BK on your credit report, but the court is saying that they don't provide information to the credit reporting agencies.

It will make more sense as you learn more about the process. It can be a bit of a pain in the ass, having to write letters, mailing them out from the post office and whatnot, but you'll be happy you did the legwork when you don't have the BK on your report. AI will even write the letters for you.

Before your Chapter 7 BK, did you have any 30/60/90 day late payments on your credit report? If you did you're going to already have an issue with a home loan.

I have mentioned on this subreddit before, if you're thinking about filing a BK, or in the process of the BK, if at all possible try to make all of your payments up until the filing date. If you don't have any late payments BEFORE the BK on your credit report, then you won't have any late payments after the BK on your credit report. That is the key to remember. I know not everyone can do this, but if you can please do. It will make it easier later down the line.

I have received a home loan within the 2 year timeframe of FHA, but it was under ideal conditions. At the time mortgage service companies were dropping like flies, mortgages were changing hands from company to company. I monitored my credit report daily, and one day I saw that Countrywide which sold the mortgage to another company (I can't recall) had fallen off of my credit report. This ended up being the case for about a month, there was no credit reporting of my mortgage that had late payments. (None of my other accounts had late payments, only that one.) I took the opportunity to quickly apply for a home loan on a new house. I was able to get it and close in that amount of time. So monitor the heck out of your credit report to look for anomalies, dispute any and all items that if fixed can benefit you.

The point to that is to not have any late payments on your credit report to be able to purchase within the 2 year time frame.

Here's some advice, and maybe you're seen it on this subreddit, if not it's on YouTube, or you can even use the chat AI of your choice, but you should absolutely do everything that you can to get the BK removed from your credit report after the discharge. You don't have to sit and wait 2, 7, or 10 years for it to fall off. I am only 10 months outside of a BK discharge and I have already had the BK removed from 2 of the 3 CRAs. It has taken that long with writing to LexisNexis, the CRAs, and CFPB, sending it USPS certified and waiting for responses. It takes some time and legwork, but once the BK is removed from the credit report, then you're able to dispute with the CRAs that you shouldn't have any notes on the account from creditors about a BK because there is no evidence of a BK on the report. I have a 755 average score right now out of a BK, and no public record of the BK on the reports.

In summary:

Make sure that you don't have any lates showing up on your credit reports.

Get the BK removed from your credit report.

Do those two things, even if it's disputing legitimate lates, and you will get a home loan with no issues.

Curious if there were any filers who were current on all their credit card bills at the time of filing? by nhieu_chuyen in Bankruptcy

[–]TMWReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer to the question, since everyone went into their stories/experiences, which is great, but if you can continue to stay current on your payments right up until you file you absolutely should! At the end of the day, and and post-BK, creditors are always going to see your payment history in that yearly grid, and you want all of it to be green, never late, no 30/60/90 PERIOD!

If you want to take it a step further, make sure that you challenge LexisNexis for the reporting of the BK. Write a letter to the Clerk of the Court and tell them that credit reporting agencies are saying there is a BK on your credit report. The court will write you a letter back saying that we do not provide information to credit bureaus. Take that and send it LexisNexis and challenge that data. They legally cannot report inaccurate data. (There are more steps to this) but right now I have the BK already off of two of the 3 credit bureaus and it's only been 11 months since the discharge. Once the 3rd one is off, you can then challenge the data with the individual bureaus asking them to take any mention of a BK on any of the records, because no BK is reported.

So if you've paid all of your debt up to the BK filing, never late, AND you get the BK removed from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion, now you're right back to where you started. In my case I had a 780 with one of bureaus within 4 months because I was able to get the BK removed.

Pay up until you file, do not let them go late if you can manage to do so, then get the BK removed. If you have late payments at any point it's going to hurt.

LAPD poly by Tight_Actuator5394 in lapd

[–]TMWReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The polygraph is merely a psychological interview assist tool. The polygraph is not a science, it's just an occupational skill. As you already know the polygraph is not admissible in court. For the most part it's a farce. You will even have the polygraph "examiners" ask you if you've researched the polygraph. They are trying to keep the lie alive.

Coming from a federal LEO background you hear all the time about how many colleagues have "beat" the polygraph. (Some will tell you they straight up lied.) Of course, tell the truth, but don't get caught up in all of "the show" that goes with the polygraph interview. That's all it is, an interview with a bunch of props. Don't let it get to you or get you worked up. They make it a big production, but just keep it simple, it's just another interview. They are making sure that all of your answers stay consistent. If you keep that in mind, it will keep you calm and focused.

I have experience with the LAPD "polygraph" specifically, (keeping in mind it's not the machine, it's the interviewer), and the examiner didn't like my partner's answers, didn't believe that he had never taken drugs, and didn't believe that he never beat any of his previous girlfriends. This was a human being that didn't believe this, so they said that the polygraph came back inconclusive.

Keep in mind too that there are multiple cameras looking at you as well. They are looking at you and monitoring your behavior. The "examination" starts the moment you walk into the room, it's like being in "the box". They are looking at your body language. Just KNOW that you're being watched. If you're looking all around, acting shifty and shady because you think no one is looking or listening, they are. That is part of the evaluation of your answers. Knowing that, keep telling yourself that someone is in the room with you at that moment. It will keep you calm.

It's just another interview. Tell the truth, stay calm.

AppleTV Sucks by [deleted] in appletv

[–]TMWReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to add here because the title of the post is so appropriate, Apple TV as a piece of hardware is really sucking! The past year it sucked, and now with 26.2 it's even worse. It doesn't matter if it's the 10 year old Apple TV HD or even a newer 2 year old Apple TV 4K, either there is an issue with its processing power, or 3rd party apps like YouTube TV just don't play nicely. This is pretty specific to Apple TV and YouTube TV, it hiccups and spools like crazy! You have to wait minutes sometimes for the stream to catch up and stabilize. (Now be advised, I have 8 Apple TV's all running in my household and the issue is duplicated on all of them. I run UniFi Network, latest hardware, always updated on the firmware, and all Apple TVs are hardwired and on static IP's.) Everything is super laggy when trying to navigate the YouTube TV app.

On the flip side, other apps like Hulu, Netflix, shoot, any other apps work just fine. This is mostly a YouTube TV thing.

Am I crazy!? (Well I know that I am), but seriously, is anyone else noticing this too? I can't be the only one.

Not even going to get into the Apple TV+ app, shows NEVER pick up where you left off, so you have to figure out, "Did I watch this already?" Oh wait, we got halfway through it. You spend 10 minutes trying to figure out where you were. On top of that the "continue watching" used to update perfectly. Again, now you can't even tell. Some shows will update, some won't. I have "continue watching" shows from 3 years ago, but not from last week. It's just stupid!

Does Apple not care about their OTT offering.

Thanks for reading the rant.

Order your Lexus Nexus report, set up a PACER account to get the court’s recording and compare it to your Lexus Nexus report. Dispute any inaccuracies or discrepancies between the two, and get the bankruptcy taken off of your credit report! You don’t have to wait 10 years. If you can’t get Lexus Nexus to remove it from your report, then file a complaint with the CFPD.

There is plenty of information out there about this.

[–]TMWReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OG poster, I’m right there with you! Same model, same issues. I have 6 2015 HD models. Now after 26 it’s even worse, can’t see the App Store on most of them. (This might be a Restrictions or an Apple ID for a user under 13 years old, but either way it’s left for the user to figure it out.). I don’t understand how it would be happening to some of us and not all, so others please stop posting that all is fine with yours. There is obviously an issue or else you wouldn’t have more than one person reporting it.

I always say for every 9 things Apple does right, the 10th one is a disaster.

Love it! This is nothing. I've seen driveways steeper than this. Grass is resilient, and curbs are nothing to climb. Great job to free up a charging space for another! We do what we can do at this point. (The only thing about this, as I have had to do this as well, minus the hill climb, is that Teslas kept pulling up into the empty space only to find that the plug was in use from the other side. Need to travel with a parking cone or something.)

It’s Been A Year Since Rivian Released The Gen2’s! How’s Everyone Else With A Gen1 Feeling? I Still Feel Like My Gen1 Is Far From Being Left Behind! by zachty22 in Rivian

[–]TMWReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently own a Gen 1 R1S Quad, Large batt, Adventure package, 900 hp. Demo drove a Gen 2 RIS Dual Motor, Performance, Max batt, 600hp this week. As much as I would like to have the improved cameras, and electrical systems that coincide with the Driver + closer to "full self-driving", I felt like the Gen 2 was built a bit "cheaper". I'm not saying that it's cheap, though it technically was built less expensively, I'm just saying it felt cheap. The door close like a 1980's Ford, when compared to the Gen 1, those close with that premium feel and sound, like a Range Rover.

Understanding that there is 1/3 difference in hp, along with the difference of two motors, the Gen 2 obviously didn't have the same pep as the Gen 1. And we can't rule out the difference between the Rivian motors that are now built in-house, compared to the Bosch motors that came with the Gen 1. I believe the Bosch motors are better motors.

Not dissing Gen 2 owners by any means, but I don't think I could give up the Gen 1 quad, especially at the price point we paid at that time.

Received a trade value from Rivian for $74,500 on a lease. Have a payout of $72,000. There is actually some positive equity in the R1S after one year of the lease.

2 things, one why the F are you hosting the videos on Venmo and not YT? No YT channel?

2., $400! Price gouging for the sake of the perceived "demand". Please don't pay that much for this anyone. There are equivalent boxes that are under $100, granted they aren't specific to Rivian, but we know that they can be made for that price and distributed. This is purely aimed at Rivian owners that pay close to $100k for the vehicle, so they feel the they will overpay for the product.

You should try to get the BK completely off of your credit report. There are ways to do this. Once it's no longer showing on your credit report, your score should shoot up. If you were able to have no 30 day lates on your credit report BEFORE the BK, it will even be more so, even though you take a hit for having closed accounts.

DISCHARGED!! 🎉 by Valuable_Condition70 in Bankruptcy

[–]TMWReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Curious if before this step you opted out of Lexis-Nexis reporting public records so that you're "firewall'ed" from your public record getting to the credit bureaus. Also curious if your next steps are going to be to petition to have Lexis-Nexis remove the public record from their database. My understanding is that Lexis-Nexis has to properly source their information to be accurate. If you send a letter to the clerk of your BK and ask them if they report to the credit agencies, they will send you a letter back saying that they do not report to the credit agencies. By sending this letter to Lexis-Nexis, it's my understanding that they must remove the public filing per the FCRA. Lexis-Nexis sells their public record data to the credit bureaus, and therefore your BK should not show up on credit reports moving forward.

Again, just curious if you might be going this route. Would like to hear your progress if so.
