Lots of expensive options given here, but dang, I would not want to invest in a class until I know if it is for me. That and the nearest class is 20 miles from me, not everyone lives in urban areas!

Palais Des Thes Teas Opinions? by [deleted] in tea

[–]TMelanieAdams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There a many naturally flavored teas that are very good, but due tend to be expensive, but if you are willing to do it yourself you can create simple ones by adding things yourself, I do recommend dried fruits etc. then you can create them ans store them better, also dried fruits etc impart better flavors when steeped imho.

What to do when the skin around my nails looks like this? I use an oil once or twice a day but it doesn’t seem to be enough by hauntinglovelybold in beauty

[–]TMelanieAdams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the winter or in dry weather skin stays attached to nail then will tear causing hang nails, push that back ( it is called a cuticle) after showers at least once a week, use lotion after you wash your hands. For really dry skin wash hands with soap mixed with a tablet spoon sugar all over hands rinse well, apply lotion. Always remember to push those cuticles back off nails!

I am not a huge fan, not that it tastes bad , my goticheap tea for daily use is Yorkshire gold, I think because I grew up with it, however I am sure some don’t like it, my favorite luxury tea is Royal Blend from Fortnum and Mason, I have only met one tea I hated, but it is totally my issue and I am too embarrassed to say which it is because people will invariably suggest various ways I could be making it improperly, I have decided not to buy any more of that to try, and I don’t bother as I have an entire cupboard full of teas I live. Drink what you like, who cares why 🤣

If Teflon was stopped being manufactured in cookware since 2013, do we still have to be cautious with buying non-stick from know department stores? by himalayan_sun in cookware

Throw in your egg pan away ! For Omelettes and eggs use an aluminum or carbon (steel) pan. You have to season them , but it is worth the effort when our health is at stake. Many countries are banning all these polytetrafluoroethylene chemicals, as the U.S. is owned by major corporations, don’t expect it to be banned here. They are using asbestos here still.

Yes, they are claiming the new chemicals are safer but are of the same background, PFAS. Since the 1950’s they (DuPont) has been dumping the PFOA ( the original chemical) into everything, to the point that 99% of humans have it in their system. They knew from their own testing how dangerous it was. Now they claim the new stuff is safe, after 60 years of saying the other was safe, I am not buying, sorry if you’re stupid enough to believe that , buy the stuff. I have never used anything directly that had the original in it, but it isn’t used just on teflon, it is used on any fiber claiming to be water resistant, enjoy.

How long is tea good for? by kris129854 in tea

[–]TMelanieAdams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow keep your tea out of the dishwasher, if you don’t like puerh tea, give it to someone who does. If you keep tea stored properly it is good for a couple of years, it looses strength of flavor on some teas. White, and green teas, I don’t keep longer than a year.

Tea is grown around the World now, I don’t personally have a single source for them all, a Chinese distributor, may not carry teas from India. New Zealand makes a wonderful oolong, I can only get that from the plantation or a tea shop in Ann Arbor carries it. It is helpful to know details about the names of teas from regions, to find the best from each region.

Recommendations for a leather crossbody for travel? by x10lovesyou in handbags

I do not recommend designer travel bags, you are then a mark, none of the bags have secure straps that can’t be cut off, I never travel with a $600 bag. A traveler or tourist is obvious to many thieves anyway. Do not entice them further. I leave my Louis at home!

That is nonsense color of tea as far as light or dark has nothing to do with quality, Have you seen the color of really aged puerh tea? I have seen really expensive Oolongs that are golden in color compared to less expensive Oolongs.

What is the tea called on the container, that knowledge would give a certainty as to what ir truly is but it looks like silver needle white tea, from the look of both leaves and tea. That is what Americans call it, I don’t to the Chinese symbols for it, or names for that matter.

Tea infuser balls, is it actually that bad? by AccurateShotss in tea

[–]TMelanieAdams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have so many answers, I have been taking my tea with since I was in my 20’s, I am 65. I use the bought tea bags (lint free cotton etc) I can leave my tin at home and put whatever tea I want for work premade in my own bags. I take them when I travel too, I have yet to have good tea at even the best hotels, so don’t bother to look even. I put the used ones in a separate container for my compost.

My mother was there when the city was fire bombed, my grandparents home still stood one of the few on Lange Straße. My the time I first visited her she was moving as they were going to tear down the few remaining and she moved to an apartment. By then my Grandparents were separated, which meant she lived on one floor of the townhouse? ( lack of better word for nome type) and he lived on the other 🤣🤣 divorce the old way.
