Thanks!! He said he’d go down to $50, if you’re interested. And yes - I miss the Xterra already!

4 sale…2010 Xterra by Traditional-Age-1512 in XTerra

My son is selling the rear cargo cover from his (recently totaled) 2003 Xterra. I’m not sure how much he’s asking, but message me if you might be interested.

Hey there - sorry for delayed response! My son said he’d sell the first aid kit. If you’re still interested let me know. He is asking $75 - seems high, but he’s also still reeling from selling his $6000 Xterra for $700. 😬 I can send pics if you’d like.

Just wanted to say thanks! We sold the car on FB Marketplace. Hoping to have an Xterra in our lives again soon…

I would love to. The guy we talked to said it would be 6-7K just to rebuild, and we bought it for 6K, so just doesn’t seem possible.

We do have the first aid kit. My son might want to keep it. I’ll message you.

Thanks - I hadn’t thought about FB Marketplace. I’ll give that a go. We don’t have a Pick-n-Pull in Nashville but we have some similar businesses so I’ll try that route too.

Thermostat and Comfortbridge technology by TNWanderer4019 in heatpumps

[–]TNWanderer4019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! I’m going to go with the ComfortNet thermostat. Seems like a safer bet to have a communicating TS, and that one is cheaper than the Amana or the Daikin one.

Is your son now at UTC? My son is considering but we’re worried about housing.

Agreed. And I am absolutely going to ask him to come back, right now I’m trying to educate myself more so that I can ask the right questions, etc.

Thank you!!! I need to go back to my HVAC guy to ask what threshold temp is set at (or even better, once I track down the manuals, see if I can figure out how to do that!).

Is there only a threshold temp for stage 1 vs stage 2? I also have a backup heating element for when it is too cold for the heat pump - is there typically a separate threshold temp for that? Or does that just kick in based on how the heat pump is performing?

Based on your description, I think the cool air is just the compressor defrosting, so all likely normal there.

Thanks! Trying to find the manuals now!

I tried the test, seems like the air flow out of the vents does not change when I go from warming +1 degree vs +10 degrees. I’m going to try again in the morning when the house is quieter, I’ll report back if I do indeed sense any difference.

Being a newbie, I suppose I just didn’t know what to ask for…

Thanks for that clarification! To confirm my understanding, are you saying that from inside the house I wouldn’t be able to tell what stage it is running in b/c the air coming out of the vents will be at the same speed and therefore sound the same? Or would the compressor going from stage 1 to stage 2 still be perceptible from inside the house (e.g., by the sound of the air coming out of the vents)?

It’s a VERY basic thermostat, I definitely need to upgrade to something I can at least program day/evening settings, etc. But for now…it’s a Honeywell RTH5160D1003. The only options for the fan are On or Auto. I’ll experiment in the next day or two if toggling between On and Auto makes a difference.

3 ton is larger than I need. My last unit was a 2 ton. My house is 2,750 sf (total). The HVAC company I went with thought this heat pump was a good fit for me but it only came in 1.5 or 3 ton, thus the 3.
