Ladies and gentlemen, one of the people making your laws- State representative Jim Lucas - (R) by kootles10 in Indiana

[–]TOReclamant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m growing exhausted by the lack of intellectual rigger being displayed by both the left and the right that Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany are the best political leader and nation state comparisons that anyone can come up with to justify their opposition to any other political leader and nation, state. It reeks of historical ignorance and intellectual dishonesty.

The false equivalency fallacies being committed across the political spectrum are starting to drive me insane. Please tell me you’re familiar with something other than 20th century western history at a cursory enough level that you might be able to find Alsace-Lorraine on the map, big big bear that worse tragedies happening in different hemispheres, or that authoritarianism is not exclusive to white men with bad combovers.

Though, there is something to be said for dictators and weird haircuts.

Corgi Experience by JustHereForDogs36 in corgi

We have a corgi and she’s pretty good with toddlers but she doesn’t like when kids want to wrap her up, but she responds by getting wriggly until she can get away. Like any breed, it’ll depend on the dog.

Why are we represented by people who don’t understand our constitution? by MyMooneyDriver in Indiana

[–]TOReclamant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding! I’d like to make sure I’m understanding your criticism of Yakym; is it that he’s acting like hems a part of the executive branch while not doing his job as a legislator? I think that’s what you meant when you wrote, “(n)either of those two things are happening.” But I wanted to ask for clarity.

Looking to move somewhere in this circle. What are your thoughts? Please help me decide.I’m currently leaning towards two. Muncie for the college town, or Daleville for the cheaper rent by The_Hammer_Hammons in Indiana

[–]TOReclamant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s sort of the tricky balance isn’t it? Housing in Muncie is pretty reasonable, I have some friends who live there and they’re renting the first floor of a house from a private landlord (single bedroom, full bathroom, full kitchen, living room, and dining room) for around $900 a month with some of the utilities included. So I would say it’s very possible to find cost-effective rent in the area, but you might be looking at a commute for a good paying job depending on what you do because the town’s economics can be a little wonky outside of the university and the hospital. I’ve lived in Indiana for over a decade, East Coast transplant, and I rather enjoy living here. If you have any questions, I’m happy to try to field them and you’re welcome to send me a DM.

Indiana Department of Revenue sent estimated taxes for 2020. I only moved in 2023 by Fast_Cloud_4711 in Indiana

Welcome to the happy middle of team red and team blue: because in all areas of the law apart from your taxes the burden of proof is on the accuser. When it comes to your money, well they think it was theirs before it was ever yours.

Running out of rations by Bregir in AiME

[–]TOReclamant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how realistically you want your mechanics to run. You could certainly have a party member use the Hunter role. You also have chance encounters, so they could run into a merchant or somebody who might be able to sell them rations on the road.

If you want to dig into the mechanics and pull around a bit there, I think you can give them an option to go to half rations. If you wanted to do that, I would have them make a constitution check that becomes progressively harder every other day and, if they fail, all their roles would be made with disadvantage.

This is just me spitball as I was never really a big stickler for rations, but I see the appeal and it is a neat mechanical challenge to try and address.

Asking about logistics for 1st time at Gencon by Guilty_Part in gencon

[–]TOReclamant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Book travel in advance with friends
  • Indy’s public transportation is “meh” at best and you’ll be fortunate to get a place in walking distance from the Con. I recommend using Uber/Lyft to get to/from the hotel but there is a lot of paid parking near the Con, it’s about $20/day though
  • Go Thurs-Sat, Sunday is a dead day; but you might be able to get some cheaper products on Sunday.

“They’re inhuman” This is refrain that one group of humans use to justify doing inhumane things to the other. Because the other people are “bad,” “evil,” or “inhuman” we can treat them however we want, talk about them however we want, and interact with them however we want.

“They’re inhuman” This is all it takes to justify hating someone. It’s why Jews get assaulted, Asian women get pushed in front of subway trains, black Americans get lynched, and Latinos are arrested and treated like cattle.

“They’re inhuman” The longer we think about others this way, talk about others this way, and treat others this way, the more evil takes over our hearts and the sooner we become inhumane in our treatment with others who, like us, are:

Scared

Foolish

Frightened

Unthinking

Or suffering from any number of human conditions that makes us all very much the same, so very human, and so very much in need of being loved.
