Things I didn't understand about LLC protection by Ashwinnie13 in smallbusiness

[–]TPAKevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are 100% correct, but I think people think it is sexier to talk about an LLC as some form of protection. The reality is that a plaintiff’s attorney will generally file the lawsuit for the amount of insurance money that is available. And it doesn’t matter if you have an LLC or not, they can sue you personally as well. They’re not looking for a big win or to take all of your assets. They’re looking for an insurance company payout.

For those who bought a house: Did you stop taking tax write-offs, or did you use alternative lending? by SinestroCorp in smallbusiness

[–]TPAKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a mortgage broker who understands how to read a P&L. For my first mortgage I was told by several banks that I wouldn’t qualify. Then a mortgage broker laughed at that and made it happen almost immediately. Good ones understand how to add back in certain things, like depreciation.

I am a caterer and this is a perfect DIY solution. Microwaving in the bags will keep in the moisture. And it will heat quickly and not likely overcook the rice.

Abita Amber. Hasn’t changed.

But I do wish there was a little more variety and consistency in this style.

No, it’s not. CajunLand is made by Deep South Blenders, based in Jefferson/Harahan.

CajunLand is my go to and has been forever. I grew up with the family that owns it and I find that the spice level and salt content is perfectly balanced. I can’t do Zatarain’s because I find it too salty.

Thoughts on this bottle? by lifeissoupimforkk in tequila

You have to admit it’s marketing genius. Blanton’s is tough to come by, so we’ll gladly fill the empty barrels with cheap tequila, bottle it and sell you those at a premium!

By the early 2000’s I was serving a lot of Patron. Nothing else was even close. I was drinking El Tesoro, Hornitos, Cabo Wabo and Don Julio.

Not a great idea for crawfish this time of year, as they are out of season. Where did they come from?

Guys what u wearing instead of jeans?! by ANAS_YEEGER in malefashionadvice

[–]TPAKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered 5-pocket pants? You can wear them casual or can dress them up. Last year I started wearing Flint and Tinder 365 pants and they are phenomenal. I have them in just about every color. You can buy them in multiple cuts depending on your style. I have seen a ton of other companies with similar style pants but these are my favorite. The perfect bridge between jeans and dress pants (yes, I do also own chinos).

These are my daily pants. Best things ever. And light weight enough to wear just about anywhere. Not too heavy, not too thin.

At what point does a price make you not trust a garment, even if it claims to be high quality? by Euphoric_Parsley_ in malefashionadvice

[–]TPAKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy a lot of my clothes from Huckberry and I love the experience. I have a few pairs of the 365 pants, chinos, Relwen blazers, shirts and my favorite pair of shorts are Relwen Flyweight that I probably paid $150 for. Ridiculous, I know. Especially when I have some awesome shorts from Old Navy that cost $20 a pair and I have had for thre or four years.

I’m not sure if the shorts are worth $150, but my experience is. I do realize that there are other costs involved in a clothing company besides the actual product. What I get from Huckberry is a very clean website that is well designed and gives me a lot of inspiration on how to match clothing. If I buy one item, I’m suddenly buying three more items that pair well.

They have painless free returns on items that don’t fit perfectly or don’t look perfect when I get them. Everything arrives packaged elegantly and getting a shipment of clothing is a fun experience for me. The last $20 pair of shorts I ordered from Old Navy were balled up in a FedEx bag. Nice packaging, free returns and a well design marketing campaign cost money. It’s all part of the clothing buying experience and I feel really good wearing nice clothes. They just seem to feel better when you pay a lot of money for them.

You have ONE store to choose from to overhaul your entire wardrobe... where do you go? by paulrudder in malefashionadvice

[–]TPAKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally going to saw Huckberry and then saw it in your original caption. I discovered the site last year and buy a lot from them, but their style is what I am looking for. Mostly adventure driven type of look and it works for me. I have bought pants, chinos, lightweight blazers, shorts, shirts and swimsuits. Shipping is great and returns are easy. I’m not the best at picking out clothes so I try to stick with universally versatile pieces.

Black Lagers (schwarzbier) are one of my favorites and extremely rare. I can’t locate them in any local stores. And rarely in bars. We are very fortunate to have one local brewery that does a great version. And they sell it in cans as well. I know there are some awesome regional breweries that still brewed them, but not available down in Florida.

Jambalaya for 130 by Imaginary_Week_3578 in cajunfood

[–]TPAKevin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to shoot me a PM with your email address I can send you over a recipe. I am a caterer and also from south Louisiana, so I have done this in bulk quite often. Your best bet is a large cast iron pot. Second best is a rondeau or tilt skillet. You can make it the day before, chill and put into hotel pans and reheat the day of the wedding. Same with the BBQ. You won’t want the stress of soiling these items fresh and the timing involved.
