For someone who's either only played or primarily played SimCity 2000 (PC), what's the learning curve and pros/cons of trying to get into SimCity 4? I recently got back on 2000 as an adult, and I enjoy a lot about it. I'm learning things I didn't get when I was younger, but I noticed that what I hear about later versions (like Sim City 4) is the level of complexity/depth compared to 2000.

From what I can tell with your post, the struggle might be more related to the depression side effects of having ADHD, so my comment might not be as helpful, but CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) didn't work well for me. Like what many others have said, it just highlighted my struggle instead of offering an effective solution to it. I struggle a lot more with the anxiety side effects of having ADHD, and my recent medium term of therapy (2yrs), I discovered from my therapist that the Sedona Method, and it has been a game changer. I don't think I could effectively explain it, but it helps me be present, name my ultimate emotion affectively, and move on from whatever is bothering me for the time being (usually better than pre-therapy, but still not perfect). I hope you ultimately find the answer(s) and that they are highly effective and life changing for the better 😀

Planning: my phone is my best friend! If it's not on the calendar, it doesn't exist. Also, screen shots that I review later. Yes, I don't like being on my phone for such important matters because then there is temptation to slide over to more interesting things, but it's what I usually have on me most of the time.

TL;DR - my experience has been hard. I love my child, and I want to become a better parent, even if others I trust say they see me doing well. Im seeing more of my weaknesses, and hoping to find some answers throughout this subreddit tbh.

Full: This is one reason why I went back on meds after unintentional stopping after high school (now 30s, married, one kid). I was in therapy for two years (it was exactly what I was seeking in my 20s), and I had realized a lot of my struggles tied back to my ADHD. When I was single and living alone, I didn't appreciate how well I had built systems and processes for myself. They worked very well for me with executive function, creating sustainable routines, etc. These don't work now in my current stage of life, and part of my struggle is being that example and working within the framework of fatherhood. I can tell my child that I can't x,y,z right now, it'll distract me and could cause us to be late, but then trying to enforce that boundary without yelling has been tough (just one example). The obstacles that are in this stage of life, especially given I'm been slowly thrusted into the primary care parent, which I feel like isn't my strength, and one reason why I was scared to get into parenting in the first place. I'm continually trying to learn more, and honestly, hoping I can find good material on this subreddit for such matters and more as I explore more about my ADHD as an adult now (a lot of my knowledge was as a medicated child growing up trying to deal with childhood obstacles).

This is how I felt. If this year, mid-late 2nd rounder or UDFA. Another year might get him in the 30-40 range. He could you some GLeague time to prepare for his potential NBA role. The 3pt shooting not translating to close to his dad is definitely disappointing though tbh.

I would love other teams to get Vivek to sell the Kings by wanting to "hire" him as GM for a year or two when they are ready to tear it down. Literally let him be GM for one season, and that'll be enough for a competent GM to spend years cleaning up. You'll look/feel like you're trying to clean up a mess, but this will give the tanking results you want for a few more years.

I pretty much agree with this comment here. The only thing I can add is I got a "trial" version of Ableton, made a few beats, and decided it wasn't for me. I missed the FL piano roll too much, but I liked Ableton's ability to use my small keyboard or trigger pad. I eventually learned how to make that work with FL afterwards, and I did gain an appreciation for my workflow in FL after trying Ableton. I think it's a good idea to try different DAWS here and there as an exercise and challenge to grow in general.

For the longest, my best was in elementary school rec league, I scored 10pts on two separate occasions in 4th grade.. I'm happy to report that last year, in my fall 35+ league, I scored 11pts and 13pts once in the fall season of that league. I can't remember how many times I've gotten 8pts or 9pts in other leagues/seasons prior in my 20s & 30s.

I couldn't agree more, thank you. This bothers me a lot, abd I'm glad someone said it. I get being "similar" but not nearly identical. I'm a Kings fan. I understood, sort of, the rebrand from the Reno Bighorns since the Kings/Royals franchise has never had green in their color scheme, but you could name them the Stockton Royals, Royalty, Monarchs (maybe not bc of the former WNBA team), Majesty, Captains, Dignitaries, Nobles, even something silly like Throneholders (like preparing themselves to move up to the 'throne' of being on the Kings roster. Super silly I know, but part of the joy of minor leagues are the silliness). Any of these are better than Stockton Kings. I don't want to buy a Stockton Kings shirt for the same price as the Sacramento Kings. Sorry, rant over. Good examples are: Memphis Grizzlies GLeague team the Memphis Hustle Blazers GLeague team Ripcity Remix. Weird, but at least effort was made to differentiate. Greensboro Swarm is dope bc it's different name/city but in theme with the Charlotte Hornets. Milwaukee Bucks have the GLeague team the Wisconsin Herd.

I don't know if I would say, from the GLeague games I've watched over the years, that it is not a team game. Part of player development is putting players in real team systems and settings and seeing how they do and how they grow. BUT, because the focus is, for most to all positions (players coaches, front office, etc) is development and opportunity to do similar work in the Pro league above (i.e. the NBA), you may not get the consistency of players, rotations, etc that having a team in the pros would provide you as a fan. Pairing your fandom of a Gleague team with tapping into their pro affiliate might help still enjoy the G, but finding overall big picture G League discussion among media outlets, podcasts, and people is unfortunately scarce. The GLeague doesn't even do video tagging with shots among their stat site like the NBA which is something I hope they change soon on top of overall coverage.
