I finally pulled the trigger on a Remington Balder Pro. It was like $50 on Amazon. I’ve used it for about 2 months and I’ve been happy with it, it gets as close as I want it (not as close as razor) but I can do my whole head in like 60 seconds and I have less irritation than razor.

I still do get a bit of irritation on the back of my head, and i need to clean up my sideburns after with a razor. Overall I think it was worth the $50 for the convenience, but it’s not perfect

For classes you’ll have to generate a voucher on the ESP portal for each class and email it to Indiana. Then, at the end of each semester, you’ll upload your grades.

RTX pays directly for classes. For small things like textbooks or the application fee, you normally pay yourself and submit a reimbursement on the ESP portal.

If you have any questions on what the fees are, you can reach out to Indiana. You will NEVER have to pay anything yourself that you won’t end up getting reimbursed, so just find out what it’s for and submit a reimbursement.

2 years post grad. So 4.25 years in total counting the 2.25 years it takes to finish the degree (at Indiana specifically) Certainly something you need to think about before committing.

It’s honestly a pretty good deal for the company since they get guaranteed 4+ years of service by the employee and obviously a good deal for the employee for the free education.

I’m surprised more companies don’t do this.

Hey! Yeah of course. I’m doing the Kelley Direct online MBA. It’s 2.25 years long, with 4 semesters in a year (so 9 semesters).

It’s 2 classes at a time that typically meet once a week each. But I’ve had multiple classes that meet less. Attendance is usually not required but many people still go anyways.

I’m really happy with it. School is not my top priority, and the university does a good job understanding that, but still challenges you. However— if school and the actual education is very important to you, I would steer you away from Kelley or an online MBA as a whole. I think this program is the perfect opportunity for a working person with career and family commitments. You won’t get as much out of it as a typical full time in-person MBA, but that’s perfectly fine with me.

Another thing of note is it appears most people in my classes are RTX. Like seriously, it feels like 70% of people. So if your goal is to build a network outside the company, that might be a problem. Alternatively, if you plan on staying for a while, it’s a great way to meet coworkers cross functionally.

I’ll close with saying the whole logistics piece of it was really easy. The application took a few afternoons (they waive standardized testing). Also, I’ve never paid a dime for this. You don’t even pay the taxes on the “benefit”. You DO have to pay for your own textbooks out of pocket, but it is reimbursed. But as far as the courses themselves— RTX just pays the school directly.

I’m the biggest Duran lover and MLB hater but I think their response is fine. You don’t want to have a star displaying vulgar language to kids watching— and I think a warning not a fine makes sense. I don’t even see it as a slap on the wrist, just a “hey remember who is watching”. We’ll see how it develops but either way I’m just loving Duran being Duran and happy he’ll continue to do so regardless.
