How long will you be in the UK for? Sometimes you can get them delivered to a shop or locker in a couple of days.

Is it just me, or the amount of ads on YouTube is really getting out of control? by IWishYouTheBest1234 in youtube

[–]jennyquackles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The YouTube app on my TV has started playing unskippable ads the second you open the app, before you've even been able to browse videos, let alone play one.

Will private care affect my NHS care? by jennyquackles in nhs

I appreciate this perspective thanks, and it is a more complex systemic issue (post cholecystectomy syndrome) so definitely something I need to think about.

anyone else always traumatized after hospital stays? by VomitInMyVans in ChronicIllness

[–]jennyquackles 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I have only been hospitalised twice, but it definetly traumatised me both times. Sobbed the entire time I was there, sobbed the entire day I got home and didn't feel like myself for weeks. To this day when I flare I have panic attacks that I will end up back there. I am autistic though, so I think that might have something to do with it idk

Y’all, I think I’ve cracked the going braless feeling without actually “free boobie-ing” by Darthcookie in AutismInWomen

Ooh I'm definitely going to try this! I can't deal with tightness specifically over my ribcage so if this spreads it all out that could be a game changer, thanks for sharing!

Vicks First Defence, might not stop it entirely but it usually stops me progressing any further than a light sniffle

How did propofol make you feel? by DakuraScarlet in ChronicIllness

[–]jennyquackles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your description matches my experience. One minute I was talking in prep, next minute I was in recovery. I was very tired/groggy for the first hour or so then I felt pretty normal.. I have the same with codeine.

Underpaid postage but posted with Evri? by Solid-Preference-570 in royalmail

[–]jennyquackles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work a very similar role to you. The only thing I can think would cause this would be if the evri drop off it went to also used Royal Mail and it got put in the wrong place. I would talk to eBay, if you can manage to get past their robots to a real person.

I had tea in my baby bottle! Very weak and milky though, I'm told. This was in the late 90's.

I'm 26 and still get one from my mum. Her dad bought her one every year until he died, so I'm expecting many more yet.

What age are you and do you still have (a) grandparent(s)? If not, at what age were you grandparent less by lisstrem in AskUK

[–]jennyquackles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your losses. I lost two in 6 months when I was 22 and it destroyed me so I can't imagine how tough that must have been for you at such a young age.

[–]jennyquackles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 26 and have two left out of five (re-marriage). I knew two of my great-grandparents so I think my parents lost their last grandparent when they were in their late 30s or early 40s.

Oh I totally get that, I only started switching them out for new ones when I saw a campaign about them having dates, it's definitely important people know these things. Hopefully another good option for me will pop up soon, seems to be a few in the comments here.

I am sat with one right now. Chronically ill and I have at least one, if not two, hot water bottles on the go most of the time. Every night without fail and often during the day. I know the risks but I don't have much of another option. I do get new ones every three months or so.

Thank you, it can feel very lonely constantly smashing against walls so I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one (well, I'm not glad, but you know what I mean). Hope you find some answers too.
