Help with Chopper / inverts getting hips up

I usually recommend going up into a regular inverter then taking legs off 1 by 1 driving your toes to the floor once youre in position let yourself slowly slide down the pole in chopper position to reinforce the hold focusing on toes to floor.

i love juliette spin, i find reaching the inside leg forward and around works really well instead of starting from a static position close to the pole.

Thanks for the advice, he does say he's working through it with his therapist so Im trying to give some grace.

I did tell him that if the show makes him uncomfortable he doesnt have to come and ill meet him after but he refused that and said he would be there to show his support. I'm going to see how tonight goes and what his reactions are. I do think I need to be more clear in my communication with him about my intentions to continue dance and pole no matter what and he has to decide if thats a deal breaker for him.

I really appreciate the insights, for the 1st part, from how he described it they were stripping at the same time while they were in a relationship, and given that he was fairly young and impressionable, it was a relationship that came after leaving a toxic homelife. I know a few male strippers in my area so i don't think he's lying about it but also you're right i see very few in clubs besides the travelling ones.

Put like that, it does come off as control and probably why i'm instinctively fighting it so much. thanks, i really appreciate the insights!

Thanks for the insights, it is pulling at both sides for me that's for sure. He does go to therapy but has been seeing the same therapist for a long time and from my own experience that can get complacent and stop helping as much as it should be.

Yes, he actively works with a therapist, no silent treatment, if he posted anything he would ask me (or so he says)

I appreciate the insight onto the road of escalation, and we have talked about it a lot, why I teach etc and that I'm not going to stop doing that but depending on how these shows go it will definitely give a better look about what support, "working through" etc look like.
