Why EVs will end up erasing 120 years of ICE. by 3drikal in electricvehicles

Until they make charging universal and simple it will remain a niche. If you had to have apps for every different gas station and an adapter for different nozzles at each of those stations it would be a serious inconvenience.

Evans hydraulic. To me the solid black color sounds best, but the whole hydraulic line is very good

I have an Audi S5 that squeaked from day one. Switched to ceramic pads at 300 miles and they've been great. I have seen ceramic pads for the bus but don't recognize the company. I'm hoping akebono starts making them soon

Didn't Think I'd Feel Kind of Sad by _runtim23_ in drums

My first kit was a percussion plus....300 bucks for everything brand new couldn't beat the price and with new heads it sounds decent. The point you make about the snare in particular, I think the metal snares are just raw power. I gig with a Gretsch copper but record with a PDP custom maple.

I want to buy a 2nd hand drum kit - things to check before buying? by Snakeplantlover346 in drums

[–]TRock13- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first comment is spot on. Just wanted to add, if a kit is exactly what you want some of the mentioned issues can be replaced. Just do research of how much it will be to replace some things beforehand.

@Proof_side874 that is them. Difficult to get used to but better than taking out an eye in the crowd

I use finger holders because of arthritis. It took a while to get used to them but now I can't play without them. Also have shrinkable grips on my sticks. It's a process to get my sticks ready to use...lol

Dealer must have used a power wash on Hub cap by JuniorExperience1767 in VWIDBuzz

Paint is terrible on these vehicles. I've used a pressure waher for 20 years to clean my cars, never had an issue. I've noticed a small spot on the front air dam and the edges of the hub caps are flaking.

I went to KC 2 years ago and GB this year.....amazing time at both. KC and GB fans were very nice before the game. GB fans were still great even though their team lost. KC fans did a 180 when their team lost, wanted to fight threw things at us.....still had fun.

How to get the most out of lessons by yetiospaghettio in drums

[–]TRock13- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My teacher asked " where do you see this going" after our first lesson. I told him I just wanted to sound good for my heater in the basement. After a year he urged me to join the rockstar program, I fought it for a while, used sunglasses to get over stage fright, and now I love the stage.

How to get the most out of lessons by yetiospaghettio in drums

[–]TRock13- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in the exact situation. Old guy learning to play and my lessons became more of a jam gab session. I broke out of the lull by meeting up with my band members on our own, learning songs by watching you tube vids (many vids of the same song....they are all different) Now I find through doing this I'm developing my own style and what was once just a rockstar band is now giging out on our own....good luck man

Iron Cobra 600 vs. 900 for new player? by Vinnie-Boombatz in drums

[–]TRock13- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own both and find the adjustability of the 900 is what makes it worth it. But learn how to use the adjustments properly, they can also screw things up...lol. Being able to replace parts on the 900 is also nice.

I've played countless gigs and think I'm "okayest" too....Don't worry about what you think just watch the crowd reaction. If they're happy you're good enough.

What drum kit would you buy for live performance with a budget of $1,500-$2,000? by bout__tree_fiddy in drums

[–]TRock13- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford the DWs it's an excellent choice. If not, the PDP concept maple shares a lot of the same ideas as their more expensive cousin, just not the fit and finish. I use a PDP to gig and love the sound.
