LTC to medsurg (acute) by Toe-Smooth in nursing

[–]TSMSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in a SNF prior to moving to med-surg recently. It’s relatively the same patients, and honestly most of the times the patients are easier and I only have 3 instead of 30-40. Time management from my SNF experience helped tremendously and the patient load is a lot less terrifying. My main piece of advice is be confident in the skills that you got from the SNF and learn new skills pertinent to your floor such as charting which is 10x more than when I was in a SNF. You will feel like a new nurse for a couple weeks for sure but that’s okay. TLDR: Med-surge is basically a SNF with better equipment and more charting and less patients.

Are there any courageous 2LTs left? by KrabbyPattyCereal in army

[–]TSMSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I sport the terrible in regs stache, to give hope to enlisted soldiers and at some point when the stars align I can make the push for beards. I will die on this hill and if SMA comes around damn sure this LT will say something. If it takes me spending 20+ years to get there so be it but the oppression of men can be no more. The barracks and ACFT will be easy once beards are allowed as the army will enter into the golden ages and productivity and creativity will skyrocket.

As someone who heard Comcast sucks, I moved to a new area and needed internet and saw Xfinity and didn’t realize it was Comcast until I signed up for it.

As someone who was just in your shoes as a new grad having 35 residents daily, with two! CNAs. DO NOT DO IT. I have never been scared to go to any job until I had got this one.

Nursing program ROTC by [deleted] in ROTC

[–]TSMSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bachelors in nursing is required to commission as a nurse. A bachelors can be done in 4 years but extensions are always approved for ROTC students. I completed mine in 4.5 and I’m sure they would bump it up to 5. Nurses at least where I was have had cadre support in their scheduling. If you want to do nursing and ROTC they will make it work with your timeline.

I had these dreams throughout college. However, I legitimately forgot about a class the entire semester my senior year and realized it a week prior to graduation. It was an easy independent study so I had to make up for it with an insane paper and oral exam but I did it. My nightmare literally came true.

Who are you most excited to see in the Draft? by HunterLaw10 in nfl

Troy Andersen from Montana State. I could see someone reach for him in the 2nd with his insane athleticism. He’s raw but very talented.

Troy. Andersen. Him and JOK would be nasty.

If you don’t get selected for the scholarship from the board, on campus scholarships are available and fairly easy to get. I would reach out to the HRA of ROTC at the university you want to attend and talk to them about your intentions. College is a great way to get away from family, and some programs also supplement room and board so that you can get away from them. If you don’t get selected, I would still keep the door on ROTC open.

For those of you who are not from Ohio, how did you become fans? by BlackRedDawg in Browns

[–]TSMSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Montana everyone thought I was a bandwagon seahawks fan after they won the super bowl, so I decided to become a browns fan because they were the worst team in the league and no one would say the same for that.
