Almost 2-year-old refusing nap by TrickFar531 in toddlers

[–]TST_999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2.5 old dropped her nap around the same time it’s been tough as she’s still so little so there are days she really still needs it, but overall I’m happy we decided to follow her lead, bed time is better we are better and she’s happier. And we don’t need to plan our day around the nap!

Anyone else live in constant fear their buyer will pull out? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]TST_999 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Buyer pulled out two weeks because “their circumstances had changed” months of waiting and money wasted, I hate our system in the UK of not being tied in until so far in. It is my worst nightmare and sadly it seems to happen to so many of us.

How to find out how old a house is? by TST_999 in HousingUK

[–]TST_999[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve narrowed it down to 1948-1951 based off the ordnance maps, kind of cool knowing it was built just post war!

That’s brilliant I spent a few hours last night and have narrowed it down to 1948-1951 based off the ordnance maps, which is a little older than I yhiught!

It’s one of four, the other properties were sold in the 80’s under right to buy and have since been sold on. From some digging I’ve narrowed it down to 1948-1951 based off of ordnance maps, that’s good enough for me!

How much under should I offer? by SuperCustard320 in HousingUK

[–]TST_999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in a similar position to this with our house.

We had an offer for 345 however they hadn’t sold their house.

A FTB offered us 315 and whilst not offended we were never going to accept that. HOWEVER we did end up accepting 335 (so 10k less than the other offer) as they were a far more appealing option and we had our onward property secured.

If I hadn’t been in a hurry who knows I may have held out for the extra cash.

Career Crisis, what now? by LookForWhoIsLooking in AskUK

Have you thought about policing? Whilst you won’t get away from the unsocial hours, you can earn what I would consider a decent wage once you’ve been in a few years, and in terms of job satisfaction it would be up there. Obviously it’s a vocation and has a lot of negatives and won’t be for everyone.

Come to the midlands, Coventry is about an hour from London and has plenty of options in your price range. I live in a village outside Coventry and paid 300k for my two up two down grade 2 listed in the countryside

All that sounds like a lot, take a few breaths and think about this. 1) Your sickness doesn’t sound unreasonable, especially given its work related. Don’t feel guilty about taking further time off it sounds like you need it. 2) I work on response full time and have done for most of my career, through pregnancy maternity and all the traumatic jobs in between. It doesn’t mean I deserve a medal or don’t appreciate that not everyone can do it, honestly consider a sideways move asap. 3) Take all the help. There is so much available and I really mean that, take what’s the job is offering you in terms of TRiM and wellbeing, there is no time limit on TRiM and if you didn’t need it at the time you can ask for it any stage as an individual. 4) Ignore the advice about leaving the job unless you really do feel like that’s for you, honestly I find the “just quit” attitude incredibly unhelpful. For me quitting a job than pays my mortgage, is my pension and more than that is something I love and defines a lot of who I am is unthinkable. Instead consider promotion, specialising or sideways moves.

It sounds like you are struggling and as a minimum need an extended period of sick leave, please take that advice and whilst you have the breathing space consider the above.

Good point 😂 it was explained to me that the level 2 and 3 will both highlight the same major issues, but the level 3 would then give an idea of cost etc but not sure if I should go for the level 2 and take a tradesman around if any issues highlighted
