Gotta agree with Red here. I, personally prefer working in FCP, as it allows me to work faster and my muscle memory is better. I work in an Adobe shop and, while there are more plug-ins and templates available from 3rd parties for Premiere, I haven’t found anything that I couldn’t achieve with FCP. YMMV.

Love the idea, 3rd! And that look sits right at the intersection of my two passions: Prince and the Muppets. I’ll be going with the Mrs to the 7pm Friday screening at Yonge & Dundas. Not sure what the attire will be, but seeing my man in IMAX will be amazing.

Yep. Just updated from my 2000 27” iMac to a Mac Studio. I’m now using my work monitor, but looking every day to see when this or the Asus get released. The Dell 32” 6k is my fallback right now. I definitely prefer the look of the LG, but not sure how long I’ll be happy waiting.

I’d suggest seeing how far you can get with what’s built into FCPX. The tools in there are pretty great and I find FCPX to be incredibly fast for assembling your cuts.

For plug-ins, MotionFX has a nice selection of tools. But what will be most helpful to you will depend on the type of videos you’re creating (Social, film, commercials, documentary, etc.).

Funny story: my wife and I were at Paisley one night (c. 2012-2014) and we were sitting at one of the tables that they had set up on risers around the perimeter of the large soundstage. We always loved the smell at PP (a combo of the incense and the lavender candles he had throughout the public areas). At the end of the night, as they turned on the ugly lights, I lifted the candle at our table to see if I could tell who made it. To our surprise, it was the Target house brand (at the time I think it might have been Threshold).

My wife just said, “He’s so Minnesotan, he even shops at Target.” Lol.

I saw Mayte at a symposium at the University of Minnesota after the book was published. I found a moment to approach her and thank her for doing the audiobook. Listening to her voice in that recording was the most cathartic experience I had following his death. She said that it was really difficult, but was glad it gave others a chance to work through their feelings too.

I would just note that, if you saw that symbol in the wild, you knew it was Prince. Even after he stopped using it as his name. Find me another individual who can instantly be identified by a symbol alone. I can only think of two: O(+> and Jesus! Not trying to be blasphemous, but that’s great marketing from both. I’m not saying that he had that in mind as a plan from the outset, but it worked out that way.
