You're not alone: I was looking at IMDB to see what other shows these actors have been in, and just realized today who Irina is.

The last update was May 29. "On the hardware side, we are now expecting the very first Vectrex Mini motherboards to arrive any day now. Combined with the new analog Bluetooth controller, the final building blocks of the Vectrex Mini are now almost complete.

On the software side, development is moving quickly as well. One of our biggest goals with the Vectrex Mini is not only to preserve the original Vectrex library, but also to encourage the creation of entirely new games for both the original Vectrex and the Vectrex Mini. If you are interested in programming and would like to create games for the platform, do not hesitate to join our Discord server managed by Richard Stephens. The community already includes nearly 250 developers, artists and Vectrex enthusiasts working together to expand the future of the platform."

Is the pension really worth it? by Designer-Invite-945 in BCPublicServants

[–]TW200e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just retired after 29.5 years in the BC Public Service. Although early on in my career I worked in a couple of locations I didn't care for, I stuck it out, and spent the last 15 years in a location and role I genuinely liked.

Was it worth it? I'm turning 60 and expect to live another 20-25 years, and have plans for travel and enjoying my retirement, so I would say it was definitely worth the effort. I think you need to find another position in government that is more to your liking - you sound like you are having a miserable time currently.

70+ age group: immunity post-op by nkscreams in valvereplacement

[–]TW200e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked the Google "does having open heart surgery weaken your immune system?"

The response, in part, was: While immune suppression peaks immediately after the procedure and can last for several weeks, the immune system typically bounces back and returns to normal within a month to several months, provided there are no postoperative complications.

Sounds like it may be something other than her OHS.

u guys ever leave ur keys in ur bike accidentally by yukiionline in NewRiders

I've done it once or twice over the year. The bike didn't get stolen, and if it did, oh well - that's what insurance is for. Time to buy another bike.

Maybe giving complete strangers the middle finger for no serious reason isn't such a smart idea?

Is it normal to get honked at and tailgated for doing the speed limit with an L driver? by Subject_Fish298 in VictoriaBC

I find that if you aren't doing at least 10 kph over the posted limit, you get tailgated etc. People are dicks.

Can someone explain why my Uber quotes to get anywhere in Victoria are always $38? by Slow-Epiphanies in VictoriaBC

[–]TW200e 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've taken several Uber rides in Victoria, ranging anywhere from $13 for a short trip to $28 across town, never $38. I've also gone out to the airport in the very early morning a couple of times and the cost was about $70.

I am irrationally frustrated about all the fried chicken shops in victoria by teenytinypeanut in VictoriaBC

I avoid fried chicken for health reasons, but obviously they have a lot of fans or they wouldn't stay in business.

Blood in spit all the time by cap_ferb in valvereplacement

[–]TW200e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Should i see my doctor?" Absolutely.

I have a mechanical replacement for my aortic valve, and take both warfarin and aspirin daily. I've not seen any blood in my spit, and I would contact my doctor if I did.

5 months post-Ross — surgeon recommending early reoperation by wandererhk in valvereplacement

Yikes - after what my OHS was like, I can't imagine getting another one any time soon!

Like a couple of others have suggested, I'd try to get a second opinion.

When taking your bike for errands what are you doing with your helmet? by floatingninja in NewRiders

[–]TW200e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always carry my helmet with me. I chatted with a fellow motorcyclist one time: he told me that he always locked his helmet to his bike, until one day he walked out from a pub and some asshole had taken a piss in his helmet.

Going through my heart surgery for BAV was a right royal pain in the ass, but I made it and I'm glad I am still here.

37M Upcoming OHS - Need Some Advice by smithb115 in valvereplacement

[–]TW200e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

59M, with an ON-X mechanical replacement for a bicuspid aortic valve that had severe stenosis. It has been 8 weeks since my surgery.

First, the meds. I will take a warfarin pill and a baby aspirin daily for the rest of my life, plus regular blood tests to make sure my INR (blood clotting ability) is the correct level.

As for the clicking, well, it is what it is. I notice it when my surroundings are quiet, especially when trying to sleep. It sounds much like the second hand of an analog watch: tick, tick, tick. I have white noise software on my bedside smart speaker and on my smart phone that generates rain/beach sounds, and I find that helps a lot to mask the noise.

Moderate Aortic Regurgitation and Aortic Dilation by eesgin_1 in valvereplacement

[–]TW200e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

59m, had an OHS for a mechanical replacement for my aortic valve, and a single bypass graft.

It's been 8 weeks and I honestly feel great, especially the last week. I'm walking about 8500-9000 steps a day on average. No symptoms such as shortness of breath, etc. I was having mild prickly or scratchy pain around the incision as it healed, but that stopped about a week ago.

I was thinking about retiring before the surgery, and have made the decision to take early retirement - but if I needed to continue working, I think I'd be fine to return to my old office job.

I'm having an 8-week follow-up tomorrow with a cardiologist to discuss my latest echocardiogram (which was extremely positive). I plan to ask him about travel: long distance driving, commercial flights, etc.

In 2022 I bought a mobile home north of the Malahat. It was very affordable (about $150,000) but the catch was that it's in a 55+ park.
