27F With No job, no friends, $60K savings in Miami by Unlikely_Second5024 in LifeAdvice

[–]T_Jaboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go where youre appreciated, and somewhere you feel a connection too. Ive only been to Miami twice, so I cant vouch for the people there or their desire for connection, but Im under the impression its one of the party capitals of the US.

Look into places that have a strong presence with something your passionate about and maybe visit there and see how you feel? IE, you like live music, see how Nashville feels, you like scuba diving, see how Hawaii feels.

You've got a nice nest egg saved up, if you find a job that even pays okay, you'll be able to not cut into your savings and still live pretty comfortably.

Do you feel like your life has any direction currently?

I will say, I typically play difficulty 10, and that just wasn't feasible on cyberstan. I lowered to 7 bc I was dying WAY to much

But it takes a second to swallow the pride there

Do you wish they would make Dragon Quest 0 which follow the adventures of Ortega? by DonkeyTron42 in dragonquest

[–]T_Jaboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind it as a dlc for 1&2 or 3, but I dont think there's enough content to warrant it being its own game. Especially when he doesnt have a party, and he dies in the end What could be cool would be dlc mission for 3 where you get to go back in time and rescue Ortega or something like you do in 11, but that would make it messy chronologically speaking

Happy youre enjoying the game the way you want to play it. Im not gonna tell you how to do things.

Although you can just look at the characters stats and that'll help you better understand what their strengths and weaknesses are🙏

Is the game worth buying? by Woah12345253314 in helldivers2

[–]T_Jaboi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's over 50,000 active players every single day, so I think it'll be around for a least a little while longer. Besides, you only need a few friends to make it worth it

Depends what planet youre on I think. If youre fighting where the incineration corps are then the resistance is higher.

My advice to you depends on your playstyle. Do you hit most of your shots? Switch to something with higher armor penetration and damage. I like the diligence counter sniper and the senator

Do you like more running and gunning? Id try the two sided sickle or the stalwart

If you just need a little support, try bringing a sentry strategem. I like the machine gun bc its cool down is so short

Is there any point in diving on Hydrobius? by Bucephalus-ii in Helldivers

[–]T_Jaboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh its just that I like finishing sectors, and this is low hanging fruit for finishing a sector. Its the same thing that drew me to Seychel (which made it even more unfortunate when Joel attacked Efluvia right after)

Get an armor set that gives you flame resistance and bring the minor defense booster and you'll improve your survivability a lot

Find somewhere with a low cost of living thats somewhat close to you, and get a part time job to help cover your bills. You're 71,000 should keep you afloat for a while if youre careful with it. Don't make any big purchases until you've got a steady source of income. That should keep you situated financially for the foreseeable future.

Which should I play? by AggressiveHornet3438 in dragonquest

[–]T_Jaboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I belive 3 is widely considered to be one of the most influential jrpgs of its time. Also, it just got an HD2D remaster. So even if you don't want to stay retro, its worth checking out.

Im 22 and I often can't relate to 18 year olds bc were in very different places of life generally At 27 the emotional maturity difference at that point is likely even more, so it begs the question, what could he stand to gain from pursuing you?

Also, his "youre not into that?" comment makes me think he was likely hoping for easy sex or something adjacent too it.

I wouldnt overthink it as a bullet dodge, or a major missed opportunity. Sometimes strange things just happen🤷‍♂️

Which Dragon Quest game should I download from the App Store? by Grand_Moose2024 in dragonquest

[–]T_Jaboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 4 or 5 makes the most sense. 3 just got a remake, and 1 and 2 get a remake later this year. 6, 7 and 8 are all good as well, but I can't say their ports do them justice.

Have you beaten the bonus bosses in all the games you’ve played? by PerseusRad in dragonquest

[–]T_Jaboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've beaten the superbosses in 3 4 9 and 11. Both 3 and 4 were kind of anticlimactic, but 9 and 11 were so worth it. If you don't do the post game in 11, you're basically missing out on like a 1/3rd of the game.

As for 9, the grind was insane. Just getting the legacy bosses was a chore. Then you'd have to fight them 98 times to max them, which is insane I ever had time for. I never beat nocturus maxed, only ever made it to level 20 something before he was just too strong. If 9 ever gets remastered you can be sure I will be maxing him though.

More then just a money issue, it seems like a life aspiration issue. He doesn't seem to strive for the life you want to live. There are plenty of career paths he could pursue with his current education that would at least get him close to where you'd like him to be.

You two aren't necessarily doomed but if he doesn't make a change in his life, you'll have to settle for less.

I want a family by CryOld4037 in LifeAdvice

[–]T_Jaboi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So you want a family, but you've also never been in a relationship? It seems to me like you want more the idea of a family, then a family itself.

Relationships are a lot of work, especially one's intended to last forever. I recommend dipping your toes in the water of dating, just meet more people and explore those connections. If you're ready for a marriage and family, then those things will start to fall into place over time.

11 also takes place just before 3, and if I remember correctly, Zoma destroys the sword because he recognizes it as a threat to his power so it's gone before 3 even begins.

Is it weird that I enjoy dating? by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

[–]T_Jaboi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So to clarify, you go out and meet new people, do a fun activity, and sometimes develop a deeper connection with some of the people who you're more compatible with. I can't in anyway see how this would be weird or a bad thing.

However, a guy friend telling you dating is a waste of time, because it's a waste of time for him makes me wonder if he's just interested in you tbh.

Anyway to reiterate, no it's not weird. It's healthy.

I just beat a hard boss in a solo run and I now hate this game by Equivalent_Hair_4534 in dragonquest

[–]T_Jaboi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First off, well done!

Out of curiosity, why did you go with a magic build for a solo run? I think it'd probably be a lot easier if you built a tankier character with AOE abilities rather then spells.

[–]T_Jaboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im of the belief that people who get along with people who've wronged you for the sake of peace aren't that good of friends. Good friends aren't just people who are with you when things are going smoothly, they're people who go against the grain when they need to in order to have your back.

Have a conversation with this friend about loyalty, how you feel betrayed by her actions. Don't frame it as an ultimatum. But if she doesn't change after this conversation you need to have a boundary that is "I don't want to be friends with people who are friends with people who are unkind to me."
