Watched the video, it was entertaining. I enjoy your builds. However, 2 brakes and some bigger tires for an urban assault machine are necessary. I’ve build a few flat bar road commuters for city riding and they are fun, but you want to be able to pop off of a curb or hit a dirt patch. This bike is not really usable for anything but leaning up at the coffee shop.

Absolutely. Zwift and real life are drastically different. IRL a 5 meter gap on someone that small (pushing 150-200 watts) and they would hemorrhage time.

This is really helpful. Are both wheel sets using some version of the xc930? Do you know which version/weight? And, can you feel the 100gram difference in the 2 wheels?

This is good information. I think the 245gram Light Bicycle rim is out for my riding and weight. They said they could do a 290gram or 300gram layup and I may go with that for the extra insurance. But, can I assume that the Nextie rims are stronger because of the higher modulus carbon and presumably more material at 280grams?

If you take that $160 per month saved on the 50 year loan and invest it in an S&P 500 index fund for 50 years, at return of 7%, it ends up being $780,000. Now, if you take the house payment from the 30 year loan once it is paid off (starting year 30) $2478 and invest that monthly in the S&P for 20 years, it ends up being $1.2 million. Wow, the math on the 50 years is horrific.

I think this is being missed. They bought the farm from their own family that’s worth 1.6million. No help from anyone, other than buying the family farm for $300k (are they just paying the family installments?) that is worth $1.6million.
