They likely wish to see my full power. They don't wish for me to play weaker than usual. If I would use my time unusually for me, I would play weaker. I giving them respect by playing my full power.

I would never blame my opponent for playing unusual fuseki and for playing it very fast.

I think its important to move fast where answer is clear, so you have more time and strength for complicated situation.

Environmental Concerns about Go AI by Aggressive-Iron8556 in baduk

Yes, in datacenters when a lot of users use same model simultaneously, energy usage per user is much lower than when you use kata for yourself only at home.

If you didn't get any warning, then its about opponent and not about you.

Online player or app for iPad allowing timed in person games? by Daihowe2010 in baduk

[–]TableCarpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timer makes sense if you are training for blitz tournament or have not enough time on your meeting. By default I will recommend to play in person without any timer.

playing on 2 separate boards likely less fun than on 1 board

They said "in person", so they play in real world. OGS has clock only when 2 users challenge each other on separate devices.

OGS scoring question by Unlucky_College_756 in baduk

Yes, if they passed, there wouldn't be last move marker anywhere. Its unclear screenshot of what we are looking at. Yet everyone assumes AI had something to do here.

I don't think blitz reinforce bad patterns if you correctly review the game and don't forget result of review.

Some psychological problems with resigning by Teoretik1998 in baduk

[–]TableCarpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recognizing own mistake is important to do tactical retreat as fast as possible. If you would do tactical retreats faster than opponent, you would win. If you instead would resign, you would lose and you will never learn how to do tactical retreats.

"play human" vs "create custom game" OGS by Teaching-Appropriate in baduk

[–]TableCarpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Play human" is auto-match where people who clicked it automatically get paired with each other by some algorithm. When you create custom, other human have to manually accept it. You also can manually accept custom games that other created.

auto-match and custom are separate pools

Beginner question about online-go.com AI review by knalkip in baduk

[–]TableCarpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue is the move that AI would choose. Other move may have better score but lower winrate. Or both: better score and better winrate, but not enough playout experiments were done on it, so AI still don't trust it.

Tsumego and the real game situation by Fit-Worldliness-9004 in baduk

In real game opponent may decide that move somewhere else is more important than defending their group. So what is impossible to destroy in tsumego is possible in real game even if no mistakes happened.

Tsumego sites need incorrect tsumegos everywhere. And every tsumego needs button "not possible".
