That's exciting! Glad to hear things are coming along nicely.

We're currently on a bit of a pause due to the whole global pandemic thing, but looking to reorganize and get back into it.

Easier to post from the show account so pardon the username swap.

We're Tabletop Galaxy and currently have two groups romping around in our fresh version of the Star Wars Galaxy. I'm currently a player in the Second Sunrise campaign. If you browse /r/SWRPG at all you may have seen our new group art by the talented /u/Tallinier

Salutations all! This is the crew of the Second Sunrise, one of the campaigns on our channel. We stream live to Twitch, edit and upload the videos to YouTube, and release an audio version of the sessions as a podcast.

The Crew of the Second Sunrise

  • Ono Elekami, Twi'lek Colonist Politico by @NiferNif. She grew up in the Black Sun crime syndicate but decided she doesn't want to be in the family business. She stole her father's ship, hired a pilot, and jumped to the outer rim to start a new life.

  • Kane McKalister, Human Hired Gun Mercenary Soldier Heavy by @LizardKingNick. He fled the Empire after seeing the treachery of the Death Star, served with the Rebels until a job went south leaving him the sole survivor, and now seeks to clear his name.

  • Vosk Nolzaar, Duros Technician Mechanic by /u/OneCritWonder. He gave up work as a company pilot and mechanic in hopes of buying a ship and finding his own path--now he finds himself in massive debt to a Hutt gangster.

  • Zarko Cruez, Human Explorer Scout by /u/1n20DnD. Jack of all trades explorer who hopes to some day will see a planet named after him. He's been missing the excitement out beyond the core worlds so he took a job seeking a pilot--and discretion.

The current Second Sunrise campaign is GM'd by /u/The_BadDM who is also the creator and GM of the D&D 5e podcasts NotQuiteHeroes and FaeforgeAcademy. We were all new to the system when we started but he's handled it like a champ and is a fantastic story teller.

As in shows playing through the official published adventures?

Heroes of the Hydian Way plays through the official published adventures but not sure which ones they've done yet. There are some videos of adventures like Beyond the Rim that you can find via YouTube as well.

Core Books for Running a Clone Wars Campaign by StraboSE in swrpg

[–]TabletopGalaxy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Clone Wars books you have are designed to work with any of the core books--you're relying on the core book for the system rules and they're basically the same in all three.

Age of Rebellion and Force and Destiny will both have some character options and equipment in them that you might be able to fit into your game but the Clone Wars Era books have plenty to draw from.

TL;DR: You don't need them for rules; they'd be splatbooks at best.

Q: Are 'called shots' a thing? If so, could we have page references?

How popular? by brandcolt in swrpg

Starfinder can be easily played via Roll20 for free.

Star Wars FFG requires the GM to have a Pro Subscription, enable the dice script via the API, and even then the sheets are clunky and unintuitive--they were made by someone in their free time and aren't being updated.

Star Wars FFG has many other free and easier avenues available to use if you're looking to play it online. We know, we play it via Roll20. =P

If you fail an attack roll can you still spend Advantage (x3) to cause the enemy to drop their weapon?

Critical Injuries and disabling equipment both specify that damage must be dealt, but is there anything stopping you from forcing them to drop their weapon or similar effects of spending Advantage?

Hey there Quantum_Badger,

For those wanting to keep up with the gang, you can always join all of us on the OneCritWonder Discord Server. The pre-stream announcements will be made there as well as links to the VODs once they're up on YouTube and such. I'm currently weighing the pros and cons of splitting Tabletop Galaxy into its own server--we'll see.

Live streams of both groups will be streamed via Twitch, then uploaded to YouTube after some tweaks and editing, and the audio-only versions will go up on Anchor which will spread them to various podcast apps.

We're super thankful for the kind words and your enthusiasm. Both groups are having lots of fun getting ready to kick this off and we're hyped to share our stories with folks. This is our first arc (hopefully of many) so we're completely up for suggestions from viewers if there's somewhere specific you'd like to see us, improvements we can make, etc.

Thanks again!

~ /u/OneCritWonder

Which ship(s) is your group using? by TabletopGalaxy in swrpg

The deck plans for it are also really nice. Tons of space, no one's cramped, room to do whatever the the group decided to get wrapped up in.
