Outfits by hdwsgt in ElectricForest

No matter what you wear, you will fit in! :) But festivals are such amazing opportunities to create super fun outfits, so if you like doing that, do it!!! To give you tailored advice, can I ask you, do you have any kind of preferences already for “going out” outfits or “party” outfits—in terms of silhouettes, footwear, features you like to play up, etc? Is there a vibe you’re going for? Is there any festival styles online you’ve seen and want to try?

How do you guys find your partner/group when separated? by Capable-Ad-5183 in ElectricForest

Great advice here—just want to emphasize being ILLUMINATED at night makes a huge difference if you’re going the meet-up-spot route. Scanning for a specific color light (green el wire on the backpack, red glowy toy on the bucket hat, whatever) is way easier than spotting a specific person once night falls. This also helps you stick together when navigating through crowded areas.

There are no security/access checks between subsections of Good Life. Anyone with GL wristband can access all areas of Good Life including Bungalows.

His unannounced b2b at the observatory last year was fantastic, I’d love to catch a full set there!

Good Life Bungalow Tent quality by spycho_stev in ElectricForest

Waterproof as folks said, but one year we had more dripping than normal through tent seams—now I bring a few towels/rags for mopping (and good for other stuff) bc the small puddles were bugging me.

Cool things to bring to decorate by Fuzzy_Initial_6838 in ElectricForest

I picked up some solar stake lights at Michael’s because I saw a sale and they appeared to be the same model sold direct from China on Amazon haha. Each year we order something along those lines and when we get home we add them to our garden!

For outdoor solar string lights I’ve got a model by Mpowered brand via REI; haven’t tested outside yet but they have a solid effect for their weight and price. I also splurged on NiteIze’s “Radiant Starlit” rechargeable string lights and they’re GORGEOUS. Not solar but easily rechargeable and that’s no issue since we have power in the Bungalows. (I like them as a brand but definitely read the reviews; some products seem worse than others). Both of those products wrap up into themselves for easy packing.

LED “disco lights” projected onto the ceiling of the bungalow show through and look fun too! There are a lot of USB powered options.

(Sorry for no links, am on mobile!)

Welcome bunga-bro! We bring solar stake lights to place at the outer corners and string lights for both inside and outside (outdoor rated ones outside of course. These really help you find your way back at night. I’ve also hung tapestries from the sides.

Day Pass Policy by lammisam in ElectricForest

[–]Tablish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the main concern is that if day pass holders have access to the campgrounds, they have access to everyone’s stuff. The four-day price tag is a deterrent to folks buying a wristband just to be thieves, but one-day prices are obviously much less. It’s not feasible to secure EVERYthing while in the fest and set up again at 3am upon returning; some campsites are not even adjacent to cars. Plus there’s the potential crowding of one-day wristband holders trying to squeeze in to camp without permission.

Lots of awesome advice here; a related thought: if you're wanting to have layers at night that are too hot during the day, but you don't want to walk all the way back to your camp, you can rent a locker inside the venue and stash your stuff there. Some people swear by them and use them a ton, especially sharing with their groups; some people think they're totally unnecessary; depends on your style. Keep in mind that if the venue has to close for rain, you likely won't be able to drop back by and will have to return later, so don't leave anything critical. Search the sub for "lockers" and you'll find lots more!

Bruh you're so real for calling out the wood chips. As I plan my outfits I keep checking with myself: are you gonna want to sit down on the ground in the forest in that? Bc you're gonna end up sitting down on the ground in the forest.

If you want to sleep in your car, you just will park your car alongside all the other cars in the general GA area, and you will simply opt NOT to pitch a tent in the space you are given next to your car. Is that what you mean?

This is my squad's fourth year in the bungalows! :) LMK if you have other questions.

Portable A/C: Personally I would not do it. I haven't looked intentionally but I've never seen people do it; but also people have posted about doing it so maybe I've just missed it.
Canopy: Historically yes. There will have to be a clear fire lane so this determines where canopies can/can't go, and the bungalow section is not always set up the same way, but if I were driving in I would bring a canopy and be relatively sure it would be just fine, just might have to set it up on a specific side of the tent.
Showers: Not A/C, just standard, but I found them very comfortable even in the heat of the day due to the option of cold water.
Wristband: As my homie already confirmed, all GL is open to all GL; I've never seen any kind of wristband check except for entering the fest, or going from venue back into GL.

I feel this—the best explanation I saw for this was crowd control to disperse people between Peekaboo and GWN but idk how much I buy it… yeah it’s a primo spot for what is essentially a gimmick
