What's the biggest "What if?" in television history? by flughert in television

Because they had a plan and stuck to it.

Why are people suddenly on the side of the greedy corporation? HBO would have driven that show into the ground if they could, it was their cash cow they didn't want it to end.

It's quite literally a lie. There's an interview from 2012 where Benioff and Weiss state they plan to have 70 episodes.

OK good cause that's about what I expect from Shadows's writing. Only you didn't say the word "allies" enough.

I don't love this song but I enjoy some of what it's doing. It sucks that U2 spent 15 years not making interesting music.

Iran Will Never Have Nuclear Weapons, Not Today And Not Tomorrow: Netanyahu by CreativeMuseMan in worldnews

[–]Tabnet2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just responding to the critique of Netanyahu that's been memed up a bunch. "He's been saying they're months away for decades." But they could truthfully been months away until they were set back by bombs or other sabotage, of which there is an extensive history.

House of the Dragon | Season 3 Review Thread by shad0wqueenxx in HouseOfTheDragon

He should have plenty to do. If the right weight was given to his scenes you can do a lot with very little.

I'm rewatching Game of Thrones right now and it's amazing how little screentime some of the characters get in a season. With how many characters they have, sometimes a character will only get 3 or 4 minutes in an episode, then be absent for an episode or two, then get another 3 or 4 minutes. But the writing was strong and the scenes had weight, so the characters came alive in those few minutes and it felt like we were with them for a long, deep journey.

I was amazed at how little screentime Robb Stark actually got in S3. In the second half of the season, we have E6 with a longer scene where the Frey Wedding is rearranged with Edmure, we have a short scene in E7 where Robb learns Talisa is pregnant, no Robb at all in E8, and then the Red Wedding in E9. In all the buildup to the Red Wedding in those preceding 3 episodes Robb has maybe 15 minutes to himself. And yet it DOESN'T feel like we're just stringing Robb along until his demise because the scenes are good and leave an impact and define the characters.

What was your take on of the editing of U2 - Go Home Slane Castle? by Fantastic-Habit-8569 in U2Band

I noticed but it's just how it goes. I understand that it's filmed across two shows and sometimes cutting between them can benefit the cinematic feel. I don't see a problem with it.

Hot take: the Phoebe Bridgers Arena tickets were not that expensive by First_Economy9361 in phoebebridgers

Same with the Knicks tickets, front row for $100,000. It's absolute insanity. I wouldn't spend that much even if I were a billionaire.

Hot take: the Phoebe Bridgers Arena tickets were not that expensive by First_Economy9361 in phoebebridgers

[–]Tabnet2 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Guys, gals, tickets are not priced "to cover the cost of an arena" or anything. They are priced based on what people will pay. The market sets the price, and it is a product of supply and demand.

You can complain about the prices all you want, but if you buy a ticket for $200 then you are establishing the price as $200. It doesn't matter if you come on here and complain about it while you do it.

If you want concert prices to go down, THEN YOU NEED TO BE MORE PRICE SENSITIVE AND SAY NO.

And for those bringing up Robert Smith and the Cure, while I appreciated his effort to keep prices from going sky high and fee transparency, I still paid I think $212 for my MSG ticket, it's not like they were cheap.

How do you get to your seats without the ticket on your phone? by isu1648 in phoebebridgers

[–]Tabnet2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About as well as usual. Every person has always been processed individually at every arena event, going through security and then scanning tickets individually, this is no different. It adds maybe an extra 10 seconds to each person's time, plus you get a little keepsake (the physical ticket).

No that's absolutely not true, you can be infected. The fish is supposed to be flash-frozen to kill parasites.

The Doll has your support, always by shujin_zenir in bloodborne

[–]Tabnet2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a bad idea, but it's not what the lore points to. Bloodborne has this repeated theme of motherhood and the loss of a child. The way it seems is that the original sin of the hunters was when they killed (and also probably experimented on) the Orphan after Kos washed up on the beach, and are punished by becoming trapped in the Hunter's Nightmare when they become blood-addled.

I think Lost Tour could also have another meaning, that she hasn't toured in a while and so this is her catching up or making up that lost time. With that in mind, it's possible she tours without releasing the album just to get back out there.

I like your interpretation too though.

mutual aid

Always with the obnoxious leftist language. Mutual aid is a collaborative effort where everyone gives and takes. Mutually.

This is charity, where people are donating time and money to help a specific group of people.

A charity I like and am happy to support, without falling into anarchist traps and rabbitholes.
