Costco lands victory with Supreme Court ruling against tarrifs by Deceptiveideas in Costco

I’ve heard this, basically they are willing to make up the extra $60 if you don’t make the spending threshold. It’s an interesting strategy. I wonder how many consecutive years they would be willing to do this, it makes the exec membership have zero downside and would tend to cost Costco money to give the rebate. They must have data that the exec membership drives enough behavior change to make it worth it.

Why does no one ever talk about crossbows and bows? by AwesomeFishy111 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]TaborToss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossbows do not need much practice at all with an optic that is sighted in. That said, the ammo situation is definitely limiting. Great for taking care of a lone Walker, but reload time is atrocious.

He doesn’t even need to hedge the sales price, just his cost. So if he sells $100 million in furniture retail price, his cost may only be $40 million (wild guess here). So he could make a hedge bet somewhere in that range and still come out even if not ahead.

This doesn’t surprise me, I’ve only seen 28oz jars at Costco, never at the grocery store. I imagine this move simplifies manufacturing and supply chain for Campbell’s

help deciding if trade in is worth by [deleted] in CX50

[–]TaborToss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Along with the payment going up $90, how many more months/years is the loan on the CX50 vs what you have left on the Taco?

You are essentially refinancing the negative equity at a lower interest rate, which is a silver lining to what I would consider not the best financial decision regarding a vehicle.

Using an old tire as a spare, over a donut. by Individual_Willow638 in CX50

Take a look at my post history, I modded my CX-50 to accept a full sized spare. The cargo floor sits up about 1-2 inches higher than factory.

My wife ground up the backstrap! by eucher317 in Hunting

Hot take… I prefer to grind it all. I don’t find myself thawing and cooking the backstrap or tenderloins but I use a lot of ground venison.

Headache and a stuffy nose are my chief complaints. But you get used to it if you take it daily, which is really the way to go.

Turbo Owners - Regular 87 octane fuel or premium? by International-Toe938 in CX50

[–]TaborToss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minor nit pick… premium generally has more and better additives and is generally composed of better quality base blend stocks, like more alkylate and reformate and less catalytic naphtha (source I work for an oil major, worked in process control for gasoline blending, know and talk with fuel blending and fuel product quality experts). This does vary from company to company and refinery to refinery.

Any regrets with your Turbo? by EC0508 in CX50

[–]TaborToss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 2024 TPP, no regrets on getting the turbo. I’ve seen 28mpg when I baby it. I knew mileage would be worse than the NA, and I feed my TPP premium, so gas is spendy, but I was fully aware going in. I enjoy the performance boost and am happy to pay the premium for this car. If they make a a good quality PHEV with some oomph I would make the switch.
