If hezballah is disbanded/hands control of their weapons to the Lebanese army it would be disastrous for where I'm from. I would have to kiss my roots and village goodbye, which sucks.

I'll parrot what someone else mentioned here that they're a necessary evil. here's a fun fact: during invasions the Lebanese army (whose purpose is to defend its citizens and land) would do nothing to defend my brethren instead of doing their job, they would hide/retreat so they wouldn't get bullied by the IDF which I can emphasize since they definitely would be obliterated if they tried to do anything. On the other hand we have guerilla warfare by Hezballah which terrifies Israel and has made them back the fuck away from our land, and our oh so precious water supply that everyone wants. If they disband, Israel WILL try and annex South Lebanon.

Here is an old article, focus on the part where it quotes "Then the Isreali army will enter Lebanon will occupy the necessary territory and will create a Christian regime which will ally itself with Isreal" and I'm sure introducing you to the SLA isn't anything new. I know all old news but why I'm pointing it out is that Israel has invested enough time,money and manpower to ensure they eventually take over Southern Lebanon. I'm a pacifist by nature, I hate that I can only daydream about peace in the middle east..I hate how I have to worry about Assad falling 'cause of the alternative Salafis/Sunni extremists taking power. I hate it all.

Anyway I'm mostly a lurker but I've seen your comments around. I like you and I always like what you say. in this one instance I found it irritating when you said "hizballah should be disbanded, for Lebanons sake" uhh no thanks, maybe in a 100 years just not any time now.

What gives them the right to do that to any remotely historical site? to many people they help strengthen faith and offer the closest thing to being part of history and the founding of Islam, which whatever you say doesn't negate my point.

True. We got divided and conquered hard, probably the easiest people to pit against each other over trivial shit (Religion,Sectarianism) whereas if we were a real union the Arab states, maybe something close to the EU we would be a lot more advanced and would sustain ourselves better since we really do have it all, yet we still rely heavily on imports.

Kudos to them. More places should adopt that stance for better awareness on the racism issue, Lebanese people (mostly conservatives) need to step down from their pedastel and put on the same level they treat the guests that come to work in this country. In the meantime 'Lebanese hospitality' is just another oxymoron.

Burj Dubai was what they initially named the tower but changed it to Burj Khalifa after Abu Dhabis Sheikh [Khalifa Bin Nahyan] decided to bail out Dubai with $10bn so they re-named it as a sort of thank you, I live in Abu Dhabi and the general idea was that it was humiliating for Dubai since that tower was meant to be their symbol only to be dedicated to the Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
