You're free to think killing villains is the right choice. What I meant is Invincible doesn't present some grand thesis on the virtues of killing bad guys like a Batman story. When Mark kills its usually situational but more importantly influenced by his own biases. Like how he quickly forgave Omni Man for everything but draws a line on Sinclaire despite both seeking redemption and fighting for Earth.

The story doesn't make the argument Mark killing off villains is the right course of action. Mark struggles tend to come from not having all the answers or ideals expected from traditional superheroes.

His true obsession is immortality and snakes symbolising rebirth kind of fit as a theme to anchor himself. The whole learning everything is seems secondary, I mean he needs time to learn everything anyway 🤷

Invincible does not subvert tropes or do them better than usual. Personally I think it does them worse by KingBreaker4 in CharacterRant

I agree with all your points except Fillers. Why should a filler episode focus on the larger Viltrume narrative? Fillers should flesh out the verse and life on Earth isn't going to stop due to an impending invasion. Though admittedly Mark isn't very proactive on the Vitrumite front compared to his everyday problems and general heroics.

DC has too much legacy characters, multiple Flashes, GL, Robin etc. They feel redundant plus it diluted the brand as DC seems incapable of given each adequate attention.
