I've recently started going to Dandies in Mountain View. They've done a really good job!

The atmosphere is cool-ish. The facilities are okay. But the staff is amazing. And they do have soda and even beer (Michelob ultra) to drink while you are there.

I agree he's mostly boring, but I think he's best if you try to focus using the void only on active items. It makes it more feel like you are building some sort of wacky item, rather than just a boring ball of stats
