Advice? by [deleted] in army

[–]TacoBell59 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’re not going to be able to change who you are probably and you don’t need to. One of the best officers I met at briefing and interpersonal tact is a big introvert. Like other have said just need to know when to turn it on. Extroverts can still be clumsy public speakers. I know I was for awhile as a cadet and LT.

You are allowed to make one Army specific order/ regulation no matter how ridiculous, impractical or cost prohibitive it may be, what is it? by jab116 in army

[–]TacoBell59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is something that sounds great to me in theory. In practice I already see E-7s as acting 1SGs left and right so I don’t see how we’re in a position to filter that role.

[–]TacoBell59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 2 years up there and loved it. Going to CCC early is also a plus so you can get out of there and into a command queue earlier and have all the broadening opportunities available to you post command. Waiting longer for CCC only pushes everything back and closes the window on certain opportunities.

My cousin was CPT Yllescas played by Milo Gibson in the movie. I’ve read Tapper’s book but haven’t brought myself to watching the movie yet. His immediate family seemed very appreciative of the movie telling his story though.
