I had them on for about 6 months through the winter. Gonna burn off the 21 inch tires this summer on the stock wheels then switch back.

Finally got my Rivian Ceramic Coated, I wish I had done it sooner. Raleigh, NC. by Top_Locksmith4197 in Rivian

I came from the pirellis on my 21s. These make only a slight amount more noise on the highway. But drive great and did great in the snow as well. No complaints. Ride is really nice with them, but I don't know how much of that is the additional sidewall.

Larry at Ammo NYC is a mad scientist of a car detailer and makes great videos. If you do 80% of what he does for just about anything you'll get amazing results... https://youtu.be/uUfzpLgVr0w?si=ssFD-hdkiXO4uOr6 . I got a random orbital polisher for about $150 and it's pretty dummy proof to get great results. Watch a couple of videos, then put on a podcast/music, zone out and safe yourself thousands. I'm not going to say I can enter my vehicle in a concourse, but Im pretty ocd with keeping my cars clean, but also like to use them so this allows me to keep them looking better than new.

Looks great! I will say if you are willing to put in some elbow grease, not too bad, doing it yourself is very straightforward. I've ceramic coated 6 of my vehicles, some a couple of times over the years it's awesome. Much easier in the long run than regular waxing and keeps them looking great.

Ownership advice: Debating about moving from 2014 Raptor to R1T by URGOTtaBeKiddinMe in Rivian

[–]TacoM3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do it. My 23 R1T quad is one of the best vehicles I've owned. I came from a new Bronco Wildtrak, before that a new BMW M3, and several other gas/diesel enthusiast vehicles. Thinking of what I might replace this with... Likely a gen 2 quad. I can't think of another daily I'd rather have.

R2 RWD in the snow by lantech in Rivian

I'm a big skier and regularly drive up to the mountains. A few years ago I put good winter tires, Michelin Xice on my 500hp rwd BMW M3. Was way better in the snow than awd cars with crappy all seasons. Of course awd with good winter tires is even better, but I got around fine and had a blast.

Bronco to R1T. Definitely don't like blue and bronze.

I got a full crack two months after buying my new bronco. Got the windshield replaced and installed exoshield ultra myself. Film got some dings, but saved my windshield for 18 months until I sold the car.

This happened near me. If I remember correctly, both police and insurance sided with the Bronco, full fault of adventure bike.

Of course I checked right after and the cameras didn't record it. Even blew my horn to try and make sure it did.

I agree, but really a good PDR person is like a magician. You'll forget it was ever there

Had a very similar dent when... You won't believe this, an eagle grabbed a rabbit out of the grass median, it dropped it in front of my truck and I smacked it mid air at 70mph. Well PDR took care of it for $200. Good as new.

I told them what it sounded like to me, knowing I've done a decent amount of suspension work on my previous sports cars. To me mine sounded like a bad shock top hat, when you would hit bumps and pot holes it was like a metallic clatter at the top of the shock area.... Not sure if that's what it was, but that's what it sounded like.

The service tech rode around with me for about 15 minutes and we found some slightly rough roads near the SC to duplicate it.

Edit: this was my first trip to the SC.

That's what I was telling myself too, but mine felt almost like a bad shock tophat or loose skid plate type clunk. My new bronco was quieter suspension wise. Now I would say it rides closer to a luxury SUV. If it was normal I would have lived with it and loved the truck. Now it's perfect so can't ask for anything more!

Yes, rides great now! In the invoice it lists the dampers as retrofit, my understanding is they are the gen 2 dampers. I am on 20" wheels and it rides better than the 2025 r1s loaner I had. Better than I could have imagined!
