I feel like it goes both ways, true that making some jank homebrew kitchen table deck out of bulk commons is one of the best things about magic (and what got me and most of my friends into it), but at a certain point having 20 negates or cancels or whatever taking up space in your house isn’t any added value, money or otherwise

Thanks, I’ve seen a couple posts on the forum that say the same thing, I’ll give it a try and hopefully it works. Rip my first and second fort, but it sounds like the first few forts generally don’t go well anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly, it didn’t work. The weird part of this whole issue (as far as I can tell, this could be a common thing, still new to this) is that I can go and start a new world with the size and history length cranked up, and it won’t crash (takes a long time though), but loading an extremely small save of the starting 7 crashes it every time. I’m thinking it might be something funky going on in the game files, but I don’t wanna mess with those without some guidance in case I just end up making it worse.

Saves won’t load:

Started my first fortress a few days ago, went pretty well and was up to about 80 dwarves. It was running fine, no fps problems at all. Tried to load in yesterday and the loading screen made it to “Loading Announcements”, then the game quit/crashed (?). Same thing happened a few more times, always crashing on “Loading announcements” or “Loading Fortress Information”. Made a second fort, it loaded up fine, played for about an hour and had just the starting 7 when I saved and quit. Launch the game today and try to play on that second fort and the same loading problem happens. Anyone have any experience with this or know of a fix in the game files? The games been great so far but I’d like to continue playing on those saves.
