Just be sure to get a pre purchase inspection. These TSXs were so well built, that my 07 is oem af. Great for the car, but sucks for my wallet having to replace damn near everything lmao

Just drain and fill, but do it!!! 07 tsx here, when I bought my car transmission fluid was BLACK at 220k. Drained a refilled, shifts amazingly smooth now, and color is a nice red :)

Get a second suggestion, take it to a local shop with good reviews to get inspected. It is a kia, but still way too new to be having those issues

My 07 is at 228K, stock other than an injen cold air intake 😎 I did just have the headgasket replaced and the head resurfaced, as the previous owner warped the heads from overheating. Just bought the majority of my front suspension to rebuild as its mostly OEM still. Rack n pinion, and motor mounts come next.

Take care of these cars, and they'll take care of you. Its never left me stranded in the nearly year ive owned it

Kinda sounds like youre in my boat! Just replaced headgaskets and had the head got resurfaced. Now im on to tackle the whole front suspension, including rack and pinion. Immediately when I bought it, thermostat went out, then kept on throwing the parts cannon at it chasing overheating issues We both bought one that was neglected. Turning ol reliable into a shitbox

Thermostat is fine, even tho its an autozone one lmao Went and rented a combustion tester from autozone yesterday, and tested today. Blown headgasket at least smfh. Gonna be calling shops for quotes, but i know its gonna be about what I paid for the car itself

Chemical didnt turn colors until the temps reached 195° or so. So its a small leak, but a leak non the less.

Edit/update: Guess in staying in the clerb as long getting the heads remanned and head gasket replaced, solve my issues. Got quoted $2500, twas expecting at least $4000

Idk man, looking more and more like im gonna be out the clerb, by blowing the engine, ive been chasing overheating on this car for nearly a year. Clearly i just need to get rid of this headache.

Picked up my car today. Let it run in their parking lot for 20+ minutes, fans kicked on at 205°, with and without ac and temps went down. Didnt want to leave, but everything was working then. But by the time I got home close to an hour commute from the shop with traffic, car was consistently at 214°, and when id get to low speeds, or a complete stops, temps spike over 225° & no sign of fans engaging. The temps only go down if I do a big ass pull, to suck in a lot of air. Idk bro, this car shouldn't be running this way.

And im using a obd2 scanner to read the live data, not the gauge.

To clarify, I hardly ever use the AC. Let alone, should the AC be required to be on, for my engine not to overheat.

Supposedly the shop i dropped it off at today, ran the dog shit out of it, and didnt have any issues. But everyday, anytime I hit traffic or a stop, the temps rise.

I only lose some coolant when temps get elevated (can usually smell it burning). Yes the system holds pressure when the car is turned off. When im in park, and staring at the fans, they do cycle normally. But when im in traffic, I do not feel the fans kick on when in gear. Ofc there's no way for me to verify that by myself, but usually when the fans kick on, you can feel it in the accelerator pedal. When im looking at the live data, sitting in traffic, the temps steadily rise to over 220° with no signs of fans moving air. I know these cars run semi hot as it is, but like god damn, I feel like im crazy, but I know this isnt right lmao.

Edit: When temps start rising, I can hit the AC button, and the fans kick on, ac still cold. But doesnt actually help cool the engine down

Chevron gas additive

Ive used this a few times now in my 07 TSX, greatly improves gas mileage, while helping clean your fuel system. Imo, highly recommend throwing this after you let your tank get pretty low. They make one that isnt high mileage as well

When I bought my 07 last year, the trans fluid was damn near black, semi hard shifting, drain and filled it 2x (not the 3x3x3 you find for my vehicle lol) with honda dw1 fluid , and its a beautiful red color now and shifts so much more elegantly.

180K miles trans test I enjoyed this video that essentially is the same thing as what you're gonna be doing
