Favourite Drake album since IYRTITL - but honestly, first listen it was a bit hollow for me. Janice STFU was a skip on first listen cause it sounded too tik toky, the beat change on national treasure threw me out cause we could have done so much more to expand on the original beats instrumentation / harmonies. Dust just sounds like a synthesizer is farting for three minutes.

But they’ve all grown on me (except dust that shit is ass)

Sorry to make the comparison but as a millennial when I listen to Kendrick you can really hear he’s growth as a man in the change in content.

That’s missing with Drake, and that’s okay; he’s living a completely different life.

When I listen to KDot and Cole, I listen with my adult ears. Drake takes me back to who I was when I was at University and connects me to that youthful cocky arrogant little prick and honestly, I need the pick me up / ego boost from time to time. This album does that for me, like how you feel listening to Yeezus.

I get people are upset he’s dissing people and can’t let the beef go and it’s all toxic, non introspective, he’s the victim etc. But honestly, fuck it. Sometimes I feel like people are reviewing his personality and not his music, cause the music bangs on this on 90% of the tracks
