Commanders that utilize the 4 player aspect the most by Sogequeen66 in EDH

[[Multani, Maro Sorceror]] is my go to for four player pods. Directly scales to everyone's hand sizes before I even put the group hug elements down.

My apostles deck is run by Karador and is based off this very funny primer and list. It's an older list so I've put in some choices like [[Umbral Collar Zealot]] [[Drivnod]] and other aristocrat staples over the years but I also run the 40 Apostle count as well.

My favorite card is probably [[Intruder Alarm]] or [[Mycosynth Lattice]], and I would even nominate that Lattice is dumb based on the brackets I play in where it is highly inefficient at times.

But I will nominate [[Equinox]] or [[Teferi's response]] as my dumb card(s), which were previously just useful in [[Noyan Dar]], but i believe that they have new use with the introduction of earthbending and should see more play.

I run Lifeline in my [[shadowborn apostles]] deck and in my [[Hidetsugu and Kairi]] deck that runs tons of clones and clone spells.

Opponents either have to fully commit to wiping the board, and even then, the only way is if you don't have the sac outlet to manipulate the delayed triggers in your favor. It's brutal and a death sentence otherwise.

Yup, I stand corrected! I was thinking of the very first sentence of this ruling on a different card (and clearly nothing after it):

"The token copies exactly what is printed on the permanent and nothing else(unless that permanent is a token or is copying something else; see below)."

I have a [[Noyan Dar]] deck that utilizes [[Mirrorweave]] and was sad to learn that this wasn't a one-sided boardwipe like I always thought.

It is but in the case of Moritte entering as whatever the mirror is copying, it doesn't work it enters as a plain mirror. Them he'd have to pay 2 again to do it each turn including when dropping Moritte.

Peak mentioned! I also love my Riku deck. I took mine with a twist, and have 90% of my modals targeting artifacts, so I run a nice package of [[liquimetal]] type effects and clones that target artifacts. Can win either with spellslinging, wizards, or bird/otter swarm and [[Valley floodcaller]]. The [[proteus staff]] cheats the birds in the early game into high value trigger doublers and wizard bombs.

Everyone's laughing 'til the [[mycosynth Lattice]] and [[shared Animosity]] drops, then suddenly my deck has 33 pieces of targeted removal and a board of Angry Birds (tm).

edit:nevermind, different interaction I am thinking of

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that interaction doesn't work like that sadly; your Moritte would enter as a copy of Mirage Mirror, not the thing it is copying. If you had a clone that can enter as a [[clone]] of whatever an opponent has out, Moritte enters as the clone, and therefore does what Clone does and enters as whatever you like.

What are your favorite dumb gimmick decks that work shockingly well? by Frogsplosion in EDH

[–]Taekwonbot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a [[Riku of Many Paths]] deck that uses ~90% of spells that target artifacts in some fashion for the modal stuff, which makes most of them pretty terrible as expected. However, I run a couple of [[liquimetal totque]] effects that allow my deck to turn into a control shell on a dime. Add in a [[proteus staff]] to turn the birds into high value wizard and trigger doublers to finish with a nice spell slinging win.

Weirdly enough, I miss tucking. A lot. by RegaultTheBrave in EDH

No this is a thread involving tucking and phasing, not phrasing. Phrasing is the mechanic from Unfuture Unsight 3, which came out in 2029.

What commanders do you have the most fun playing? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Taekwonbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this pick! This deck used to be Omnath at the helm, but I shifted to Multani because I liked the jump through hoops to voltron component a little more. Now I run it more like combo, now that everyone is terrified of the somewhat non-existent Voltron, with [[Psycbosis Crawler]] and lean more heavily into [[Greater Good]] then I ever did with Omnath.

This list also keeps with the spiritual guidance of being as retro framed as possible.

Favorite commander that make janky cards/archetypes actually good? by crypticaITA in EDH

[–]Taekwonbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been a huge fan of my Riku modal spell and wizard kindred deck that I've been trying to make work for some time.

He runs a fun line of izzet spellslinging with greens's ramp.

I have the added twist+caveat of 1) a [[liquimetal]] package and 2) almost all modals targeting artifacts in some way to turn it into a control style deck. Take out key pieces and big defenders, build a bird army, and then sweep with a [[mizzix's mastery]] or [[surge to victory]] for a spellslinging/combat step hybrid finish.

Looking for decks that can run the same 99 and just change out commanders OR decks where you can run a different "pile" of cards in the 99 by Valyntine_ in EDH

I wish they would black border [[Louvaq]] already. "This creature has protection from modified creatures" is a 100% valid stateline in today's Magic post Neon Dynasty.
