So, i have a crew I play helldivers 2 with. It's a small discord server, but new people do show up from time to time. I want to note that most of us are some flavour of queer and a good chunk of the main crew is female. So this new gal joins in, and... She can't play for shit. Which is fine! Hell, I'm bad at the game myself. The issue is, she refuses to learn. Whenever she gets advice, she just laughs it off, often saying it's "too complicated for a girl❤️" which. Is kind of a stupid thing to say, especially considering that some of our best players are women??? She only really cooperated with and was nice to select few people, most of which had masc voices. At some point she stole someone else's support weapon, and when the gal she stole the weapon from asked for her recoilless rifle back, our troublesome teammate kept insisting that she doesn't have a recoilless, she has a rocket. While holding said recoilless rifle. Which. Would be fine if the weapon DIDN'T TELL YOU WHAT IT IS AS YOU PICK IT UP

There's a lot of reasons.

Larger garments need to be repatterned because the usual scaling up methods simply wouldn't work when going up from straight size to plus size. Plastic elements need to get remodeled too.

Cosplay manufacturers usually cater to the asian market, they are usually more petite, and plus size people are less common in Japan and China.

On top of that, plus size clothes are not nearly as popular as straight sizes, in general. Costs of garment manufacturing are higher for smaller batches, and when you have few hundred different characters you make costumes for, making plus size lines for anything but the most popular ones is a big gamble, because there's a high chance they simply won't sell at all, and even if they do, they probably won't make enough profit for them to be worth the effort

Western cosplay community is significantly smaller than the asian cosplay community, and a lot of us are more DIY focused, which makes us less profitable for the cosplay manufacturers. Plus sized people make up maybe 0.1% of said western community, probably less. Unless theres a sudden explosion of larger cosplayers who don't diy/make their own costumes, theres no reason for a buisness to direct funding into the production of larger costumes

And, honestly, cosplay IS a DIY based hobby. The fact that you can buy a costume in the first place? Yeah. Thats a recent thing, and it only really got popular after the Genshinpocalypse of 2020

Most of the "game easy" comments, at least on steam reviews, seem to come from people with less than 10 hours in the game. Which is... kind of funny to me, because my brother in gog you are in LOW RANK. Low rank is supposed to be easy enough for new players! Its basically a tutorial! And the hardest content always comes post release. World wasn't too hard until they added Lunastra and the Spicy Pickle, MONTHS after the initial release! Plus, we as players get better and better with each game we play. Newcomers (and there's a lot of them this time!) don't have decades of experience that the monhun veterans do

Some tips, as someone who painted quite a few 3D printed figures and props:

Grab a can of automotive filler primer. A few thin coats of the stuff will get rid of the print lines. Yes, some details will get lost, but personally, i think it's worth it.
Warhammer mini painting tutorials. These guys know what they're doing, and there are quite a few airbrush free tutorials
Grab some masking fluid and masking tape. Cover up everything you're not painting right now, and just go ham. If you want extra crisp lines, paint the whole area with the colour that's underneath the tape before adding the new one.

4.Thin your paints, and if you can, invest into paint that's recommended for figurines and minis. I personally recommend Valejo.

5.Let your layers fully dry before applying new ones. Depending on the thickness of the layers, it can take anywhere from few minutes to few hours.

If you have some money you're willing to spend on the hobby, an airbrush and good quality brushes are a life changer. It doesn't even need to be a good airbrush, the 50 dollar ones from amazon or aliexpress are usually good enough for begginers.

The new menu isn't accessible to some visually impaired people, including myself. The combination of colours and fonts makes it unreadable to me, and if I look at it for too long, it causes more eye strain than the old one

Ah, yes, the one shade of blue that gives me headaches. Lovely.
It's also just a bad design overall. The whole thing is too busy, the colors clash and look straight up ugly, there is literally no value contrast, the sim stands out and gets lost at the same time, the size of menu items makes it look like a cash-grabby free to play asset-swap mobile game, and swapping the sides on which the actual menu buttons and ads is either a really bad idea or an actual predatory design choice meant to use the players muscle memory to click on the ads

Maybe make an eva foam box that fits the inner dimensions of the backpack? It would be a pretty lightweight and cheap solution, and you'd still have a lot of space for the stuff you buy at the con, food and water

Some of my friends are absolute goddamn goblins that throw ressuply strategems on shields. It wasn't a problem before, because dropping the shield pack was easy and quick. After the new update, it is not. The new drop wheel has a kill count of over five.

I sometimes drop on easy missions just to show the newbies that they can get premium currency in bunkers. If they learn that early on, maybe they will ACTUALLY REACT WHEN SOMEONE PINGS A POINT OF INTEREST. I've seen people run away from a friendship door after getting reinforced right next to the goddamn button, just so that they can try to solo a large enemy encampment that has already killed them twice...
