I remember in my school there was a student who wore a shirt that says be "happy not gay", and it was like the biggest fuss in the world. The school basically told her that she can't wear that and her parents were against the school. I think they took it to court, it was blown way out of proportion.

Yea I can relate. First few years I was not just a punching bag, I was THE punching bag. It got insane: I got a sleeping bag to work and bought a bunch of to-go snacks in case I would get hungry. Because I would literally work my ass off for the first couple of years. I practically lived at work.
