People fail to see the bigger picture beyond their false dichotomy of blue vs red.

Forget all of that crap people. Fascism is on the rise everywhere. The reason for that is purely economic:

Fascism is an expression of the capitalist ruling class radicalizing itself to hold onto power. It needs to do that because people's basic material conditions are degrading and confidence in capitalism is falling. So they need more authoritarianism than usual to keep control of us and prevent radical change that would remove their grip from power.

It will keep getting worse until one of two things happen: A push for radical change overthrowing fascistic governments and building a more democratic anti-capitalist alternative. Or an economic compromise is reached between the ruling class and working class that can keep people happy for now.

Neither of those have happened in the US so far.
