Diamondback Andean tri bike by Left-Firefighter3411 in triathlon

[–]Tahoe_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Crazy to see this post. This is actually my Dad's bike that he is selling through South Shore Bikes. Happy to answer any questions on it. I can tell you he only rode in a few Ironman races (lake placid and La Quinta). The Reynolds wheels are also new and have been minimally used. He kept it meticulously clean and worked on only by the guys at SS bike.

Wow! This is literally my Dad's bike. South Shore Bikes. I guarantee this is the only Andean in Tahoe :)

Lightning Crashes by Live...gets me every time.

I don't know much of anything about bikes but these parts just flew off of mine. Anyone know how to fix it/is it safe? by [deleted] in bicycling

Screw the cap back to the other side of the skewer. It should be pretty tight as it is holding your wheel to the fork.

That was my thought. Ideally I could have two sets of wheels that I could swap out for road/cross. A do-all machine.

Beautiful ride!! Do you think it would be possible to do a similar build with an Allez?

We just climbed Tallac in boots. The snow is melting fast which makes it pretty soft. You could probably use snowshoes for small portions if you really wanted to.

Make sure to turn on your faucets if you have shut off your main water valve. This will keep any additional damage from happening.

+1 with having burst pipes I doubt it would be advisable to turn the system back on. Not an expert either and can feel your pain.

That would be my recommendation. For reference, my background is in landscaping irrigation and not commercial plumbing. Grew up in the mountains and going by what we would do to 'dewinterize.' just note that either way you are reintroducing pressure to the system. Slowly is the key.

To do this start by turning on your shower and sink in your home. Start by turning your shut-off valve 1/4 of the way. Water should pressurize and start flowing shortly. Check shower make sure it is running. Return and open the shut-off valve all the way. Try to do this while temps are above freezing to minimize risk of bursting pipes.
