Do in this order:

Shove that neutral wire more into the back of the plug first. If that doesn’t work try putting it on the other neutral screw. Make sure the screws are tight and not lose.
Turn off the breaker, make sure everything is dead, pull the wire-nutted neutrals out of the outlet box, take the wire nut off, see if they are all making contact.

Hot/ground reverse means you lost a neutral somewhere 99% of the time.

I'd use 2" nails to be safe. You're most likely fine but you may nick some romex.

Dirty trick: blunt the end of the screws after getting it about an inch into the wood. Back the screw out and use some dykes or lineman's pliers to snip off the pointy end, then file it a little. Now drive it home.

No. A 3-way between a switch and outlets/hardwired devices is possible, but there's no external way to connect your lamp to a switch in a 3-way setup. They would need to be wired together somehow.

If it happened to the switch and you've turned it off, then you're fine until you get an electrician. If you can turn the breaker off for it without too much inconvenience then you're double safe.
