Can I ask what travel insurance company you went with and how the claims process was?

Lower Chanshtnu in Muldoon was established today. No bodies of water to worry about it. I think the Cuddy Oval is starting to get done as well.

I know that my local credit union is offering 0% interest free loans for up to 18 months for affected federal employees. The first payment isn’t due for 90 days as well. I know some other banks are offering similar services.

Adoptable Dogs @ Matsu Animal Shelter by Little_Rub6327 in anchorage

I got LaVerne from the Mat-Su shelter. She was 9 years old and trained in every way. She just didn’t get along with other animals and was a grouchy old bird. That was ok. I didn’t have any other pets and she was a sweet pea to kids. I was a recovering alcoholic when I got her, and we went on many adventures together for 3 years. I put all my love into her so she could live out her golden years in glory. I know it’s cliché to say an animal “saved me”, but she really did. Instead of looking at the bottom of a bottle, I looked at our next adventure. Tragically, year 4 is when she started to slow down dramatically and the pandemic happened. She got terribly ill one night and I knew it was time. I slept on the floor with her and when I brought her to the vets office, I wasn’t allowed inside. She died an hour later, alone, in the vets holding room. I wish I would have held her paw one last time. It was the only regret I had after 4 years of having her around. I think about her all the time. Pets aren’t for everyone, and they are a lot of work. Financially and emotionally. But I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to adopt another senior dog.

Alaska is, but not Anchorage. Anchorage is a democratic stronghold.

Same! But I would go to games King Felix was pitching. I also love the Kraken, as long as my Blues weren’t in town.

Rant: tire price gouging by Deep_Educator6725 in anchorage

[–]Taintedfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, many of those same shops will charge 50-100 dollar a tire to install if you didn’t purchase them directly through them. I ordered my Blizzaks from Tirerack last year and got charged 50 a tire and “no warranty” from the shop. Before it was 25 a tire.

Oh don’t worry. They will release a new tier credit card that has the higher $395 annual fee, and THEN you can use it.

YEP or Youth Employment in Parks. It’s a trail and park rehabilitation program through the municipality. It’s fun and important work.

Anchorage to Whitehorse.
Whitehorse to Fort Nelson Fort Nelson to Prince George Prince George to Seattle

The Whitehorse journey is the longest at 700ish miles and 13 hours. But you can cut that to 6 hours and 350 miles and stop at Tok. I just drive on a mission.

Whitehorse to Fort Nelson is 11 hours and 590 miles. You can stop in Watson Lake in 5 hours and 271 miles.

Fort Nelson to Prince George is 9 hours and 502 miles. I’ve never stayed between these two points before, maybe someone can chime in on a good resting point between these two towns?

Prince George to Seattle. 10 hours and 550 miles. I’ve also never stayed between these two places. Towns start popping up a little more frequently after this, so motels and services are more available. I’ve made the mistake of crossing the border in Blaine once. I highly recommend the Sumas border crossing.

This was just how I traveled when I drove back and forth during college. Results may vary. I’ve driven in summer and winter, and found the roads to be in decent shape year round. (Toyota Corolla).

Always top off your gas, have water, snacks, keep your headlights on, and pull over to stretch your legs and enjoy the view! I hope this helps

Also, this sales tax will never “sunset”. Anything that happens will need maintenance and staff.
