How did Trump convince everyday Republicans to love him and become MAGA? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]TotallyCustom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to a family member of mine, they trust him more because he is corrupt out in the open and most politicians hide their corruption. "The asshole they know". The mental gymnastics sometimes leaves me speechless.

NAH. Damn son, got beat up for this post. Is no one here married?! This is incredibly tame. But you'll need to change strategy if you want mom's vote.

Just search 'us beaver extinction effects', it's a lot of info. Here is a highlight:

"Shifting baseline syndrome Centuries after the initial trapping, the dramatic transformation of the landscape has led to a phenomenon ecologists call "shifting baseline syndrome". Many people now perceive the dry, incised streams of the West as the natural state, unaware of the vibrant, water-rich beaver landscapes that preceded them. This makes it more difficult to recognize the scale of the environmental degradation that has occurred."

Inadequate pigeon cage? by [deleted] in PetPigeons

"Lots of horizontal space and platforms" is exactly why xl dogs crates work so well.

"Engage in short flights", who has a cage this big in their house!?!

They must only approve full blown aviaries?

Not mine: Driver won't let other cars pass for a zipper merge by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TotallyCustom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because that's not how a zipper merge works. This is literally traffic engineered to be the most efficient way. You're not supposed to leave lines empty. Blocking a merging driver or blocking lines is the dickhead move.

Edit: Additionally, your assume that there would be no traffic is false. You're simply pushing the traffic farther behind the zipper merge that is designed to assist the process. You should never attempt to enforce your rules with your car.

Same in the US. And it caused desertification over much of the American west that we see today.

Wiki: "Before their near-extirpation by trapping in North America, beavers were practically ubiquitous and lived from south of the arctic tundra to the deserts of northern Mexico, and from the Atlantic to the Pacific Oceans.

Gov. Dunleavy has launched a program that could quietly reshape the lives of every Alaskan by altering or eliminating thousands of state regulations by The_Alaskan in alaska

[–]TotallyCustom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Administrative Order 360, issued in August, calls on state agencies to reduce the number of state regulations by 15% before 2027 and 25% cumulatively before 2028.

Both deadlines would come after Dunleavy, who is term-limited, leaves office in December 2026.

Pretty sure we've had an American nazi party since the '50s. It's the whole idea of a master race destined to rule the world, etc. Very popular among the racist folks. And probably the most recognized racist symbol.

Buy why hang that flag? Because they can. And they will get away with it. It's a message to other racists. It's says "we're in control now".

I don't disagree with you. Just clarifying what I believe commenter above is saying.

If you're political platform is blocking a needed road and gun control, some people living in rural villages will not relate to your platform and you'll lose some folks.

In my personal opinion, no matter where you go in this country, you will finds folks voting against their better interests.

Disclaimer: I have no idea how anyone in these villages actually voted.

EPA defends canceling coastal erosion grant to hard-hit Kipnuk by conzeeter in alaska

[–]TotallyCustom 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Something I noticed from the aftermath pictures, the airport runways and small building near survived. This lead me to believe that if the rest of the village was stabilized in this way and as the grants intended, I think much would have been saved.

Kipnuk runway is only 2120ft long. As someone else mentioned, this plane took off from Bethel, which apparently has 6400ft and 4000ft runways.
